I too would recommend.

Agree 100%. Touching the Void is brilliant.

I'd suggest people also try to find "The Beckoning Silence" where Joe Simpson recreates a tragic 1930's German attempt on the Eiger. Absolutely riveting stuff.

Watched it yesterday. Fascinating watch, really good recommendation. Got a bit emotional at the end too I don't mind admitting.

Novocaine. Expectations were low, and they weren't met. Quaid's kid is very affable and all, but that was a terrible movie.

Finished Protection.

Bit meh in the end. Turned into a poor man's Homeland with conspiracies and cover-up's. It veered too far away from why it lured you in.

This weeks episode was much better than last weeks.
I quite enjoyed the one with the bomb in the stadium ( AFC Wimbledon’s Cherry Red).
Was at a London Broncos game there on Saturday night, kept half an eye on the security staff, just in case….. :crylol:

Watched the Pauline Black documentary - firstly for nostalgic reasons, was 15 at the time 2 Tone came about, but really interesting hearing how she had what you might call an ‘interesting’ childhood as a black child adopted by a white couple in Romford.

Ended up with an even greater admiration for her after watching this than I had for her before.

Not controversial for me mate. I never understood the hate from some quarters, and I thought the whole thing was brilliant first time round, including the ending. And agree on your character breakdown above

But then I watched Minecraft at the weekend with the kids and really enjoyed it :horror:

Watched The Bondman on Prime. Gory comedy horror series. It was mildly entertaining. It was a long long way from Ash vs the Evil Dead though in terms of quality, gore, and fun.

Lawless

Tom Hardy stars as bootlegger Forrest Bondurant and his battle against lawman Charlie Rakes played by Guy Pearce during prohibition.

Based on a true story.

Pretty good. Took a while getting used to the rather strong southern accents though.

The Witcher s1 eps 1~3.

I've read the books, played the computer game and now seen the TV version.

Personally I thought it was dreadful. If I watch any more it wil be because of the action scenes which are fantastic (and gorey!)

Reacher series 3

Third best series for me. If you're going to put the 'twist' in the first episode then maybe don't telegraph it quite so much. Found it slightly disappointing from that point on.

Last One Laughing

Very funny.
A couple of things. The funniest comic was the deserved winner. How does Sara Pascoe earn a living as a comedian?

finished up Bosch Legacy.

right up with the very best (iirc) of the Bosch series, not much of the "Legacy" part in this one which was fine by me.

shame it has been canceled, maybe another network will pick it up. hope so, there's a lot still left in the books. and it's a very good cast. didn't actually "end" per se.

I would vote for another series that's for sure. funny that they put a renewal on Seasons 2 and 3 even before the previous season was filmed and then shelved it.

Last of Us - Series 2 Episode 1

Off to a slow and worrisome start. I've read numerous criticims of Bella Ramsey's performance and while I'd largely agree, the real villain is the writing. We've jumped forward in time 5 years and Ellie is still acting like a rebellious 14 year old.
Joel in therapy? Get me the **** out.

A couple of positives:

Introducing the character of Abby as they did should work far better for the show.
Isabela Merced, far more vibrant and memorable than her game counterpart.

Beyond Paradise S3E04 (I think)

another quality bit of television. knew how mum's cancer scare would pan out but the way they dealt with it was excellent. haven't luckily had to deal with it personally, but I can imagine how stressful it would be and I thought that they handled it very well indeed. the stress that Martha was going through and how her and Humphrey interacted when he didn't know anything abut it was very well done.

I am absolutely gutted though, of course, with DS Williams.

I suppose that I now need to realise that's she has moved on, and that I will no longer be in her peripheral vision. I have to learn to deal with it. going to be VERY tough though but like everything in my life, I suppose I have no alternative..

then before the Rockets first playoff game, Frasier the 1000th Episode

brilliant..

in the coffee shop

Frasier - after praising himself rotten but getting interrupted - "now where was I ?"
Niles - "halfway up Mount Ego.."

:crylol:

and after the waiter in the coffee shop couldn't remember Niles order... Nilea exactly reminded him but he couldn't keep up. brought Frasier a coffee looked at Niles - "and you had ?" Niles - "a waiter who can't remember what I ordered, I'll get it myself.."

really the writing is top notch... always a go to when looking to fill in a 25 minute slot...

Did episode 3 of Grace last night, I thought it was ok but when you have several plot lines going on and refer to all the people by their first name it gets confusing.
