Thanks to Korea...Akron/Family... what an interesting band! Bein old git I think of 'post' rock and 'post' punk and 'post' folk (post office?) but you have to admit it's just music.
Put me in mind of this:
Not tryinabee 'culturally aware' but it does fascinate somehow

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
It's a thin line between rocking out, singing about scenes of pillage and plunder, and it quickly becoming a highly amusing but unintentional comedy act.last.caress wrote: ↑Wed Apr 23, 2025 6:27 pm Tbh, I even cringe just a little when bands I generally love start singing away about war battles or naval reenactments or ancient historical skirmishes and such (Iron Maiden and Motörhead do this a LOT; Slayer aren't averse to some war imagery either; Adam Ant of course loved to hoist The Jolly Roger or play The Dandy Highwayman or whatnot; And Bolt Thrower's entire identity was largely built upon Warhammer gaming which led to very piratey/war skirmishey lyrical content, albeit of a more fantastical kind).
I have wondered what happens during the photoshoots of these sorts of bands. I can't imagine they take themselves too seriously, and they burst into laughter once the shot is taken. Or maybe it's not an act? Either way, long may these niche genres continue, the world and the high seas are a richer place with them.

Metallica - And Justice For All
Finally got my turntable working again after moving house 9 months ago, so thought I'd give this album a spin to test it out.
Such a great album, their last great one imo.

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
It's dawned on me that i've barely listened to any 2025 albums this year, so making amends for that. That Barker one is top of the list so far. Onwards we go.

New channel that i've stumbled across, and i'm very much enjoying Walter White's wonderful deep techno mixes.

This is insane. My album of the year for sure. Mad lofi UK punk hip hop. More ideas in any one track than most people have in a lifetime.

Johnny the Fox album by Thin Lizzy, as a kid I found my mum's tape and kind of misappropriated it for my own collection
