Remember spotting him at Old Trafford in 2016 when we were robbed of a victory in the cup. Big Chas (Romford) R.I.P. and myself looked at each other and both said "Isn't that him out of The Alarm?"

Very much a fan. A regular at Old Trafford as a young boy. Incredible that he's been fighting illness for thirty years.
The earliest ticket stub I can find is from ' 88 though I am sure I caught them earlier than that. Truly one of the good guys.

There was a brief time in my youth where I reckon The Alarm were my favourite band, all that righteous anger, punk spirit and all that spiky hair done it for me. They had some cracking tunes amongst the sometimes overblown rock cliches, and even though they chased the US market a bit much in their heyday they never forgot their punk roots and their Welshness.
I can see why they were your favourite band Junco. I've just watched two programmes on BBC Wales about them. The 1st was Rewind:60 years of Welsh Pop (Alarm special), the 2nd a live performance from Llandudno to celebrate the 25th anniversary of (The Gathering) which I believe was a yearly event dedicated to the music of Mike Peters and his band.
I can honestly say I didn't hear one bad song. All sounded great, really anthemic and the type of stuff I probably would have been into if I had checked them out properly. Feel gutted I missed out on this great band.

Think he also fronted Big Country following Stuart Adamson's death. Sad news.
Love Big Country seen them Loads....had Close links with Mike and the Alarm,often were the support band,even recently,
and like you said done some stuff with Country...
What a shame truly gutting,long battle for him....Love and Respect....RIP Mike.
They were also a favourite of mine in my yoof. I seem to remember seeing them supporting U2 in the Arms Park way, way back (1987?), with the Pretenders and The Silencers (I thought UB40 were there too but my brain isn't what it once was). The Alarm never gave anything less than 100% and belted out some great songs...

I remember being wowed by The Alarm when they first appeared on Top of The Pops playing 68 Guns. The anthemic rabble rousing call to arms, plus they played acoustic guitars loudly … and the cans of hairspray, had an influence on me as a callow youth.

Saw the Alarm at the Engine rooms in 2022. Really enjoyable.
Ms Eggchaser was a big fan back in the day.
We both saw them at Wembley in 86 on the Queen/Quo tour some 20 odd years before we met.
