Baldur's Gate 3

Post by WHU Independent »

Anyone bit the bullet? Need 128 gig free on an ssd to play (on PC). It's getting rave reviews and I'm thinking of getting another SSD installed to play it. (My current SSD doesn't have the free space and I can't delete anything.)

I'm tempted. I haven't played the previous ones but I need something new to focus on for a while.

I heard there's about 172 hours or thereabouts in cinematics alone. The size of the game overall is insane.

I'm tempted as a lot of my gaming mates are playing it but having just bought a new car I need to keep an eye on the pennies. That said, I need to get around to finishing Baldur's Gate 2 anyway.

I have played it for a couple of hours. I like, because I liked the Divinity games, but BG1 and BG2 and two of my all time favorite games and at the minute it doesn't 'feel like' a BG game. Going to stick with it as its so well made and I am liking the story so far.

Is this just pc or will it come out on ps?

Edit: should have just googled it myself

Looking like I might need a bigger SDD

Sh*t, just looked at Amazon and a 2TB SSD is only around £125, cheaper if you don't want the Samsung ones

oops wrong thread for the above post.

I have finally installed a new 1 TB ssd card and had my usb ports fixed. I DL the game last night, got to the character creatiion stage amd promptly give up (for now) as I was too tired to even think about it. I don't want to make mistakes now that i would rue later on.

Can the thread title be spelt correctly please?
Completed the original back in the day and Tales of the Sword Coast.
This game looks amazing but I will not buy a download only game.
If this is where the industry is going then it's a sad state of affairs.
Apparently, the game will be released physically in Japan on the PS5 at some point as an exclusive. No European release.
I'll have to make do with Baldur's Gate 2 on the Switch until the physical version of BG3 is released.

i've started this and I'm having real trouble with the UI. It's wayyy to small - the game is also quite small so I have to sit really close to the screen. I have a PC and a 34 inch Tosh TV attached. I can't play more than a shortg while as my eyes bleed! I've tried downsizing the res but to no avail. Any suggestions - I've WMKATS and done a google search .... no luck so far!

Had it for almost a month now, quite complicated fighting system (for me, anyways), but getting there and I can see that this will be a game that I go back to once completed just so I can try other choices, routes, etc.

I really want to play this before I spend full whack…. Any game that has a Metacritic score of 96 is worth a gander…

I bought it at the early beta. Huge fan of BG2 which I completed many many times. This is truly brilliant, but so challenging with all the interactive scenery and height advantages etc.

Just started this on PS5, about 5 hours in and I think I’m approaching the levels of addiction I had for games like Elden Ring and other FromSoft titles.
When you start thinking about the game when you’ve stopped playing it and just want to get back on it, you know it has you by the balls.
I’m not normally into games of this genre but there’s something different about this.
So far, so very good.

The scope of this game is immense Ozza.
You can play it so many different ways, using different skill checks and abilities or just brute force.
I just found out that there was a way to obtain new characters depending on the particular way you handling the goblin leaders (a very tough mission early days).
I doubt you could do the same playthrough twice if you tried. :crossed:
