Zelda breath of the wild.
I am enjoying it but never having played Zelda before, I am not amazed by it like I am told I should.
Good open world game

Re: 🕹️ What are you playing right now?
It’s a different Zelda game in fact.
Most of the previous games followed a formula of progression (new items obtained in dungeons, therefore new abilities and that allows you to open new areas).
BOTW was different. It gave you the entire land to wander with few restrictions. I enjoyed it but I somewhat missed the dungeon puzzle structure you’d seen before.
The shrines are enticing but not as engaging. I solved most of them in just a few minutes.

Microsoft Flight Simulator on the PS5 with PSVR2.
Wow....incredible.
So far flown over London, Paris, New York, Bora Bora, through the Scottish Highlands, Swiss Alps and the Grand Canyon, a couple of Red Bull races, and had an incredibly chill experience flying from Santorini at sunset over the Aegean to Athens.
I've always enjoyed flying and seeing the world, and to do this in 360 degrees around you is a dream come true
I had PSVR on the PS4 but in truth only used it sparingly and support wasn't huge. I knew VR for MSFS was coming so invested in a PSVR2 that I had resisted, and glad I did so far. I've also been playing Gran Turismo 7 in VR, again incredible and not sure I'll play it again on flat screen, and a few freebies on PSN - Resident Evil Village (scary!), Humanity (Lemmings-like puzzler).

What's the going rate for a V2 Whitters? I have V1 but bar using it for the shark dive and a bit of Star Wars it remained pretty much unused.
Are there still a plethora of cables to deal with?

From PSN direct it is £379 (and if you shop around it will be a little bit more or less). This is down from the launch price of £529 so a bit more affordable.Up the Junction wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2026 1:47 am What's the going rate for a V2 Whitters? I agree that the PSVR1 was a faff to set up due to the extra box & cables, and lost HDR passthrough as a result (at least the early versions). Like you, I played a bit of Star Wars Squadrons and the shark dive (when showing friends/family) and little else.
This has no such faffing - just a single USB C cable plugged directly into into the PS5. The hand controllers are very good too, much better than the PS4 wands. I just bought a separate magnetic charging station for these so less cables needed to charge these too
I think that whilst the range of titles will be reasonably limited, the ease of setup and the fact that some AAA titles like GT7, MSFS24, No Man's Sky, Resident Evil, etc are supporting this (and all look incredible), plus there are other goodies like Aces of Thunder (WW2 fighter pilot simulator) out there means it will get a lot more playtime than PSVR1 ever did.
I also tried Battlefield 6 on the flat full-size screen and that was actually very immersive - almost felt 'life size' and certainly helped to pick out enemies hiding in the distance - I'll probably stick to normal TV but would be fun once in a while. Watching films looks almost cinema-like too. With an add-on box it can be used on the PC as well.
So, although its still early days so there is a lot of buyer's excitement, I'm very happy with it so far, its a great bit of tech.

I went back to Hades for a little while. I'd never actually completed a run despite putting 15 hours into it! Cracking game.
Started and am some way into Hollow Knight. It is the best of it's genre. Pretty much a perfect game.

Re: 🕹️ What are you playing right now?
I actually finished DOOM: The Dark Ages last weekend and really liked it.
It did was it said on the tin. My only real gripe was the final boss. Basically, it’s 6 phases over the last 2 levels.
Once you have him worked out in the penultimate fight the final fight is a complete cakewalk. He uses the same attacks so it’s just rinse and repeat.
I also 100% 17 of the 22 levels, and mastered all but 3 weapons on the first playthrough so I have only 4 trophies left to unlock for the platinum.
I did download PGA 2K25 for pissing about on my Portal at work, but I think after that I will start Disco Elysium.

Re: 🕹️ What are you playing right now?
I finished Yakuza 0 a few weeks back and have been playing (and just finished) Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
I still prefer the turn based RPG Yakuza games but must admit I love the stories of this game. Will aim to do 1 - 6 at some point too but will play something different for a while so that I dont burn out on the gameplay.
Not sure whats next yet, thinking either a JRPG or a short FPS style game like Bioshock

Super Mario World 1990 - There could be an argument for this being the greatest game ever made. It isn't my favourite and wouldn't even be in my top 10, but considering that it is now 36 years old, it still looks great, plays great, has plenty of gameplay, tons of additional secrets and is both challenging and fair. There won't be many games that hold up this well.

It’s still my favorite Mario title. Played a load more Resident Evil games, great fun. Wish I'd played them in the right order, though.
Now playing Mouse: P.I. for hire. Very silly.

I’ve yet to play Village or Requiem but the only main canon titles I never got along with was Zero, Code: Veronica, and RE6.dasnutnock3 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 25, 2026 7:55 pm Played a load more Resident Evil games, great fun. Wish I'd played them in the right order, though.
It’s amazing the older games still play as good as they do even with the dated sluggish tank controls.
