Fifa has not formally revealed a full price list, but they are being listed online by fans who were successful in the draw after spending hours in digital queues last week.
General admission tickets are being split into four categories, with those for the first match in the USA costing between $560 (£417) and $2,235 (£1,662). At the last World Cup in Qatar, the opening match was priced between $55 (£41) and $618 (£460).
The cheapest ticket for the 2026 final costs $2,030 (£1,510), and the most expensive is $6,000 (£4,462). Hospitality tickets, meanwhile, are yet to go on sale but will almost certainly be priced significantly higher.
Some tickets for matches early in the tournament - in a few of the less prestigious locations - are available for $60 (£44), but stadium map images show they are a tiny proportion of available seats.
The Athletic also reports, external that Fifa will also implement 15% charges on both the buyer and seller of tickets resold via its official platform.
Its like England winning World Cup and Labour stopping games being played in Tory voting areas.
I thought FIFA didn't get involved in politics. This slightly melted Jeff Bezos doll of a man looks Sepp Blatter look wholesome. Genuinely makes me sick
Trouble is, you'll always get some idiots that will pay just because "I can afford it", giving little thought to their part in perpetuating the continued practice of "trickle up" economics.
I assume FIFA's response will be those ticket prices were available at the first second that the "lottery winners" were able to access the ticketing portal then high demand led to rising prices or some similar BS.
Knowing FIFA and Infantino, I wonder how many of those first lottery winners were officials in some of the smaller countries who can resell those tickets at 1000x of the purchase price on the FIFA exchange.
It is extremely frustrating that there will be World Cup matches less than 20 miles from my house, but even I - a relatively well off person - feel the tickets are far too expensive to go.
Someone earlier said that FIFA will continue to milk the cow until it's dead.
I'd argue that the cow is now terminally infested with a parasite called FIFA, and the only humane thing to do is shoot the cow and starve the parasite until it also perishes.
When the world cup rolls around, you'll only have to look at those watching in the stadiums to know where the problem lies. Remember: just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
Grauniad article reports that the FIFA resale site now has two tickets in excess of $2m, and a bunch over $100k. They do not set limits, but they do cop 15% per sale.
Sorry unable to post link but it's on the front page at the mo. Mental though ain't it.
