I wouldn't call the military-industrial complex small.

In case you have been too focused on Trump's ballroom blitzproof bunker escapade and haven't been paying attention to his fascist arch pet project, you might be shocked (shocked I say!) to learn that there's a Russian connection to that planned epic waste of tax dollars on that vanity project.

Well it looks like the Jesus post has done some work of making some of the cult wake up and see him for who he is.

I've been trying to make this point. People need to learn to ignore Trump's nonsense that's clearly designed to provoke a reaction.

It's like Hegseth's bible quote the other day. He knew what he was doing.

At Mass yesterday the priest gave a sermon focussed on St Peter’s “We must obey God and not Man” - Acts 5:29.

I found it somewhat ironic that this was being discussed at a time when Trump is trying to blur the lines as to who is God, and what is God.

I would like to agree with Sendo that this is merely provocation (in a long line of provocation) from Trump, but since Easter (in light of Paula White Cain’s bizarre and blasphemous prayer) the administration has moved in an alarming way towards unifying the spectre of God and of Trump. This inherently plays to the gallery of American conservatives who will inevitably lose any perspective and start questioning just how close God and Trump are (inevitably coming down on the side of the argument that they are almost one and the same - or that the Holy Trinity is now a foursome).

Trump wants total obedience, but those who practice scripture and Christian doctrine would never countenance revering and worshipping a mere mortal like Trump. But that means that Trump must move from mortal to immortal. And thanks to the words of Prosperity Gospel proliferators like Cain, and AI generated images of Trump surrounded by “divine light” it plays up to the idea of Trump being the product of provenance. Rather than somebody capitalising on a moment in time where we have let our political guard down.

I was actually surprised when I saw how few suppliers are actually approved.

Makes it easier for them to utilise closed protocols on everything.

I heard that some of the missile defence systems use proprietary mouse's, same as what you can get down the local IT shop, something like a HP mouse, but because of the proprietary nature of the connection to the computer, it suddenly costs X1000's more. There's also shed loads of examples of non-repairablity issues with hardware. Whereas before if something broke down, the armed forces engineers could fix it. Now they have to call in vetted specialist from the specific supplier.

Daft if you asked me.

I think I’ve got some medals leftover from kid’s Dynamos cricket last year. I can probably let him have one of those as well!

Donald Trump said in a post today that US marines have taken custody of a vessel that tried to get past the American blockade on Iranian ports, adding that US forces stopped the ship by blowing a hole in its engine room.

That sounds like an escalation.

I get that some of these MAGA clowns are utterly immersed in Trumpism, and can't hear or see anything bad, but I was reading yesterday that despite Trumps slumping popularity it is still a big ask for Democrats to take control of the House in the midterms.

I know the voting is set up differently to the Senate, but just how bad do things have to be before a majority of Americans wake up to reality? How can he possibly get enough support to keep control of the House? Madness.

I think a lot of them see what is happening at the moment as them "winning".

> Publicly calling out Europeans
> Rounding up a lot of brown people

Yup, and that's backed up by them somehow thinking that any or all of the points in Sendos post constitute "winning."
