About a year ago, on my way back from seeing family in North Woolwich, I thought it would be interesting to do this walk and see what was now there.

Crushingly depressing.

Would not recommend.

I grew up in North Woolwich (and later Silvertown) between '85 and about 2004. All my family and friends have moved out of London now and I'm living over in Northern Ireland, but every time I'm over I think I should go see the old area. But then I think what's the point, I probably wouldn't recognise it now anyway

Even watching on YouTube was depressing let alone actually visiting the area now sans West Ham United FC. Good to see The Boleyn pub given a new lease of life. Would be nice to have a pint in there I guess but I can't imagine there'd be a time where I'd travel all the way out there especially to have a pint.

I’ve got a lovely old picture of Silvertown taken from Shooter’s Hill. Sorry, going off subject here.
