I have grown to really like that most recent album.

Half of the last Arctic Monkeys album is pretty good, the rest of it instantly forgettable.

Disappointed the new one seems more of the same and the new single is pretty bland.

For most of 2021 I barely listened to any new music, until the end of year poll opened, then I crammed 20 albums into December and voted on New Year's Eve, to the consternation of several other posters, as my choices affected the final results.

This year I am making an effort to listen to new albums as they come out, and have heard at least 25 from 2022 so far. My provisional top ten so far is as follows:

Some good choices for the new albums of the year and certainly some stuff to listen to.

As for Yard Act - I’ve also had that yes/no/yes feeling about them but have decided that they are a hit for me.

And one of mine too, 2022 has been a good year for the deep house / techno sound.
