Going to see GLJ on Sunday, never heard them (as far as I know) so don't know what to expect. Downgraded from 600 capacity venue to 120 capacity, so that's not a good sign. I'm only going because my mate's in the support band, I reckon I might be leaving after about two GLJ songs.

A very different album in comparison to previously releases by the UK collective. But, I must say I think it's fantastic.

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
Just listening to this recent track by The Godfathers - a band that's apparently been around since 1985 although I have to admit, I've never heard of them. Only reason I'm giving it a listen is because I've just found out that their new guitarist is a lad I used to be mates with at school.

Ironically, Burnley, they had a hit - or possibly an 'indie hit' - in the late 80's with a track called Birth School Work Death.Burnley Hammer wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23, 2022 9:56 am Just listening to this recent track by The Godfathers - a band that's apparently been around since 1985 although I have to admit, I've never heard of them. I actually found it and played it during my 'rona intermission earlier this month:

The Godfathers caused one of my earliest musical disappointments. I absolutely loved this single in 1986, so bought their album Hit By Hit, but didn't like any of the other tracks. This is still superb, though.

The Pattern Forms - Other Voices 03... I was about to rant and rave as to why they hadn't released a second album but having sheepishly just seen they did last year, that's tomorrows listening sorted.

I’ve given this album, Extreme Wichcraft by Eels, quite a few spins recently and have really enjoyed it, particularly this song.

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
I think i need to explore their efforts a little more, as there's many good tunes like that i've yet to hear. Though maybe i'll swerve the first 2 albums. Until then...
