^^ They've got a couple of new songs out, and have announced some tour dates, in case it's of interest

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
I've only bought 4 albums this year...
Scratch that; I've only bought 4 x 2021 releases.

Yeah, I know, it's bound to be a bit underwhelming with the year we've had, but I thought it would still be worth doing. I don't know though, the number of votes last year was way down on before.prophet:marginal wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 7:50 pm I've only bought 4 albums this year...

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
A highlight for sure, the thread... not the musical year. I might be able to get together a top 10 by years end with recent outputs!Korea Hammer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 8:20 pm Yeah, I know, it's bound to be a bit underwhelming with the year we've had, but I thought it would still be worth doing. I’ll struggle with a Top Ten this year, not many purchases here.Korea Hammer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 7:13 pm I'll try to get it up and running at the weekend
(and after that I might start a thread on the Albums Of The Year)

My Spotify Top Songs 2021 - Well mine and my daughters as she shares my account and has 'polluted it' somewhat
I have my doubts about this list, I have to wonder if it is sponsored. There are songs in my top 100 that I might have listened to once or twice and others not here that I listen to often.
72,273 minutes listening this year that is over 50 days! Glee and Good4u (Olivia Rodrigo) are my daughters offerings.

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
^^^ I only know about 5 songs on my list. The rest sounds like stuff my daughter would have listened to or, as you say, the list may well be sponsored.

Nothing sponsored about my list.
Pay the extra £2 a month a let your daughter have her own account!

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
I would but I get Spotify 'free' with my phone contract and you cannot upgrade it to the duo. If you do you have to pay the lot, rather stupid and I have pointed this out to both Vodafone and Spotify without any change. At some point she'll have her own.

Shows me a splash screen telling me to use the app (if I open on phone I get my list).. They are forcing us to share via Twatter etc by the looks of it.last.caress wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 1:34 pm My Spotify Wrapped for 2021:

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
Fair enough, it's not particularly interesting anyway. Most of it was massively skewed by my Rolling Stone adventure, other than big showings for Radiohead, Motörhead, Led Zeppelin and the Beasties. I'd listened to 90-odd different genres, and "soul" and "singer/songwriter" were among my most listened to, which was probably a first for both of those.

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
I've put together a very tentative list of my favourite 20 albums from 2021 but I've definitely missed a huge bunch of releases, and none of the big 20 I've compiled are set in stone (I usually like at least my top 5 to be pretty iron-clad). I only found out my current #1 album existed five days ago. That's hardly definitive. Is it really my favourite of the year, or my favourite right this minute?Korea Hammer wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 8:20 pm Yeah, I know, it's bound to be a bit underwhelming with the year we've had, but I thought it would still be worth doing. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
I guess it's a sign of getting older, but my listening tastes over the last few years have gone sideways rather than upwards, or something. I'm less interested in 'new' music that probably sounds similar to stuff I already like, and I'm more interested in the massive diorama of 'old' music that I haven't discovered yet.
I'm going to struggle to make a 'best of 2021' list, but hre's some batshit belly dance surf guitar.....

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
Seeing Wolf and Elsee's wrapped list, I thought I'd better check mine.
Apparently I'm a 13 year old girl.

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
I’m another who has spent more time this year listening to old stuff that I hadn’t previously discovered … Brian Eno, Kate Bush, Linton Kwesi Johnson and Os Mutantes being examples.
However, my son pointed me in the direction of Oliver Tree … far better than expected.

Been re-listening to BR5-49's first couple of albums in the motor.
