A million times better than SM, in my opinion, but then again I think they're one of the worst things I've ever heard. This is ace though - I psted it yesterday in the YTotD thread.Big George wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 1:39 pm Shaky goes full Sleaford Mods.... to be fair, it's really good

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
Yeah, sorry, I'm just being grumpy because they ruined Orbital's new record
No, it's annoying because I probably should like them. Grainy, rudimentary electronics, grating vocals and leftwing lyrics all tick my boxes, plus it's refreshing to see a couple of older guys so angry. And yet, whenever I actually listen to them....
Obviously, just my subjective opinion.

I always thought Sleaford Mods were a bit like a modern day Carter USM. I admired them doing their own thing, but didn't really like it.Korea Hammer wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 7:02 pm Yeah, sorry, I'm just being grumpy because they ruined Orbital's new record
Then they made the best tune on Orbital's new album (opinions, eh?), and I have re-evaluated them a bit. I quite like their new album; it's not world-beating, but it is original and confrontational, which is good.

One of many that I've had on today...
Takes me back. Must have bought it about 35 years ago.

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
Some of you may have seen my post in gigs thread. No recency bias, Bloodywood the best gig I've ever been to. Unparalleled stage and crowd energy, ridiculously unique music and a ****ing epic message, as well as the lead singer having good jokes with crowd too.
Check these out for the messages they send
(song for below is around 5 minutes, recommend watching extra bit at the end too though)

Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
New(ish) single from Extreme. When did they start bringing the heaviness? This is actually pretty decent:
