Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
I've liked rather than loved Burial down the years, but for my personal taste that new one is a bit boring. Maybe it needs more time to bed in, but some of the vocal samples are starting to annoy me too.

Friday evening ripping through Naked Raygun's late 80's classic four album streak....
Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
See i've always loved him, if i had to pick one artist for the rest of my days, it probably would be Burial. His older stuff i felt was faultess, whereas now (well the last 10 years with his rate of outputs), there's been a handful of stuff i haven't enjoyed so much. But that said, i think he long ago he joined the likes of Aphex, Boards and Plaid as all time great electronic producers. Speaking of which...Korea Hammer wrote: ↑Thu Jan 13, 2022 5:26 am I've liked rather than loved Burial down the years, but for my personal taste that new one is a bit boring. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now
I've given the new Burial ep a couple of full plays and regret to find it just a touch self-indulgent.
There are good parts to it, but some of his signature sounds are feeling a bit tired on this one.

See i think with Autechre i have the same opinion you have with Burial. I like a number of albums and EPs, but it's never spurred me on to really have a deep dive into their catalogue. Maybe that'll be something to do next week, regroup with the Rochdale Lads.Korea Hammer wrote: ↑Sat Jan 15, 2022 7:54 am Not the boys from Rochdale? In my mind it's:

Peak Metallica - one of the greatest Metal albums ever recorded. (you could say that about any of Metallica's 2nd, 3rd and 4th offerings)
