Eastern Promises (2007). Decent gangster flick featuring a fantastic performance from Viggo Mortensen but let down by a rather unsatisfactory conclusion.

Emily the criminal. Odd indie drama about an indebted woman getting involved with card fraud. Watchable enough, mostly due to Aubrey Plaza’s unique charisma, but a fairly unengaging plot.

Re: What did you watch last night?
Watched 'Last Seen Alive' with Gerard Butler. A standard run of the mill kidnapping movie that sees his wife kidnapped at a gas station and Butler taking the law into his own hands as he strives to find her. It had a very straight forward story and was an easy watch. Won't win any awards but wasn't too bad either. Couldn't work out whether Butlers character was supposed to be American or Scottish. The accent seemed to come and go.

I don't think I ever got round to watching the third series - thanks for the reminder - but the first two are brilliant!

Paddington
Love it. Feel good family film.
Gogglebox
Centred around HM passing. Set us both off in tears again and I still don't know why.
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
My favourite of the franchise.

We've been watching this too. We're up to S4 Ep4. I was laughing so much I think I pulled something.

Watched 'The Deep House'. Was a typical haunted house movie in every way and with the usual cliches - except for one thing that made it different to the rest. It was underwater. That was effective in terms of giving it a claustrophobic atmosphere, and I can't think of that concept being done before so it wins a few marks for originality. Otherwise though, it was a fairly average horror flick.

Re: What did you watch last night?
Finally got round to seeing it. As iLL suggests, the script wasn't up to much (eg if you've got a drone, why not use that to lower your mobile phone rather than hurl it into the abyss) but I enjoyed it nonetheless as it made me - as someone who's terrible with heights - feel relentlessly queasy for an hour and forty minutes!iLoveLasagne wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 3:20 pm Fall (2022) Entertaining popcorn movie. Suspension of disbelief is required on several occasions. But, if you can overlook that, this film will leave your palms feeling very sweaty.

New Fletch movie. John Hamm isn’t bad but he also isn’t Chevy Chase (when he was funny).

Fletch as a character was annoying. He was cocky and a dickhead 100% of the time. He was arrogant. For that reason, Ryan Reynolds would have been the perfect choice to play him.

Binged Halo on paramount whilst on holiday. Never played the games, know almost nothing about the ‘lore’. It was ok, binge worthy stuff only 9 episodes of 45-50 minutes so didn’t drag on. I’ve watched worse.

Re: What did you watch last night?
Hamm actually does that bit fairly well, just not quite as breezily and cheeky as Chase played him.Burnley Hammer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 21, 2022 8:39 amHe was cocky and a dickhead 100% of the time. He was arrogant.
