Watched that last night as well. It's excellent, so I followed it with UHF, which is just as zany as I remembered it being.dasnutnock3 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 17, 2022 8:07 am The Weird Al Yankovic movie with Daniel Radcliffe. Gloriously silly.

The English
finished it up last night.
okay. not as wonderful as the reviews.
spoiler
a HUGE leap of faith that the boy she rescued turned out to be the chief's son that was killed in the opening and that the camp they took him too also contained his mother.
looking at the trooper's face at the end did he have sex with the English bloke as well ?
and after 6 episodes, all of that travel and hatred, she couldn't pull the trigger on the man who gave her syphilis and "killed her son" but she killed random strangers for less reason ?
nah, not having it..

Make you right Cuenca. Good to have an 'alternative' take on a Western, and the brutality made it an arresting watch at times but yeah, somewhat far-fetched and I thought the 'goodbye' scene would never end (as did, amusingly, the Irish sheriff)

Ch 5. ‘Brian Cox (not the excitable science guy, the other one, an actor) on the Wealth Gap.

La Brea.
First two episodes as it popped in on my 'if you like this, try these as well' notifications.
Not bad...very similar to Lost though. I'll give it a real good go, and see where I stand after completing the first season.

Ronaldo: The Phenomenon on Iplayer.
Being born in 1991, this guy was THE footballer when I was in my football mad years of primary school/playground footy/growing up and all that. The best footballer I've ever laid my eyes on for sure, just above Messi for me.
Superb documentary.

All Quiet on the Western Front on Netflix. It’s a German film detailing the journey of a young boy during ww1.
It’s uncomfortable to watch, very harrowing and a truly excellent piece of work.
It didn’t leave me feeling good when I turned it off, but then it’s not supposed to.
Highly recommend.

Black Panther
it was okay. nothing special. thought it started out okay then kind of meandered along.
wouldn't watch it a second time. but passed a couple of hours and I didn't switch it off. then again I definitely wouldn't tell anyone "you just HAVE to watch this film...."

Re: What did you watch last night?
Watched 'The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent' on Friday which we enjoyed. On Saturday we watched the old classic 'Airplane', followed immediately by a run-of-the-mill horror film 'Smile' which wasn't too bad. Ending was a bit shoddy and you could see it coming a mile off... but you always can with these type of films. I've certainly seen a lot worse.

Did a couple more episodes of the Cabinet of Curiosities, loving the Lovecraftian vibes. Then watched the first episode of The Boys season 3 which was entertaining

The Bear is really, really good. Done the whole lot over the weekend. Makes that Steven Graham chef film look like a school play.

Re: What did you watch last night?
finished the last E6 of All Creatures Great and Small Series 3.
what a cracking series. photography too deserves a big thumbs up to. whoever chose the locations deserves a big pat on the back too. top cast all around.
tonight's the very last episode of The Walking Dead. last 2 series have been excellent in general. shame about some of the those in between when they went from being brilliant and when they weren't.
shame though I got a lot of time invested in the show...
