Yeah, my first time. I obviously knew of the bands before but had no idea of their back stories. The Sherriff wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 7:50 am Was that your first time?
Havent seen it in an age but it brings back some many lovely memories of a certain vintage .
Very, very, very good film. Nothing beats a biopic.

Greg Davies is one of those rare people who doesn’t appear to have done anything I don’t like. His TV shows have always made me laugh, his stand up (You Magnificent Beast, being the pinnacle) have always hit the spot too

Re: What did you watch last night?
I’m really looking forward to watching this as I really enjoyed the last two series. I’ll also be extremely bias as I’m originally from Canada but curious to see where they end up throughout the journey.prophet:marginal wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 11:27 am Ep2 of that Race Across The World show - Is there a more beautiful country than Canada?

Re: What did you watch last night?
the past two nights
Lewis (revisited)
Season 1 e00 (pilot) and e01
Oxford is a brilliant location for the series (and Morse of course).
coming home from wherever he was seconded, comes out of the airport with Hathaway and nearly gets run over by a red Jag......
follows along from the Morse run along with several references to him especially in the first episode where he picks up a case where initially on a different but related case, Morse was the lead detective. loads of crossword references, etc.
it doesn't seem dated at all, good cast, decent stories a la Morse, why wouldn't it be ?
tried and trusted formula updated a little to align with the years that have passed.
if you've done Endeavour, and Morse but haven't tried Lewis, it's the same "safety first" telly that occupies a nice 90 minutes....

Champions, Woody Harrelson sports comedy where he coaches a basketball team of kids with learning difficulties. Refreshingly unpatronising, uncheesy and smartly executed stuff, with some extraordinarily charismatic performances from the “Friends” squad. Excellent soundtrack from one Michael Franti. Highly recommended.

Re: What did you watch last night?
Started Yellowjackets on paramount+ after recommendation from work colleague.
Episode 1 - really not sure what this is, seems like a teen drama, was exceptionally slow in getting going. Will give episode 2 a go before deciding if I should continue. (Some ted lasso style annoying ‘soccer’ stuff as well.)

Still laughing at Succession where Greg bought "Bridget Random f***" to Logan's party and Tom roasted him about the size of her "ludicrously capacious" handbag

Started watching a show called How To Get Away With Murder last night.
A series from a few years back starring Viola Davis about a lawyer & law students. Pretty good.

Yes, if I was able to fly that far - I mean I could, but can't stand the idea of if - I would definitely go to Canada. The Old Man of Storr wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 9:45 am I never watch these type of programmes but last night thought we'd give it a go -

Re: What did you watch last night?
The final part, 3 of 3 of Tyrant, ~ The rise of Adolph Hitler and his attack on Poland, in an almost minute by minute countdown of this blitzkrieg attack and which led to Britain and France's declaration of war. I learnt something new, Hitler who felt all along, we were bluffing misread between the lines and had conducted many meetings with both the British and Polish ambassadors to Germany in the lead up to the attack and realised he had led his country into war and that it would be a long and bloody campaign

Re: What did you watch last night?
Couple of years back , could have been 3 we watched a Walter Presents Finnish series called ' All The Sins ' , Season One and Two -
Last night I discovered that Season Three is now showing on C4 -
It's VERY good and I absolutely LOVE the intro-song , wonderfully weird - one of the best in the Walter Presents series .

Theme song - Aino Vena - War Song

Re: What did you watch last night?
Loving this
Kind of don't want to rush it.
The tall, dark haired cop - female - is stealing the show for us, at the moment. Great actor.

Re: What did you watch last night?
I think I watched the first series and I remember it being a convoluted mess. The plot progresses at lightning pace to stop you from thinking about what's just happened. Good tactic really

Re: What did you watch last night?
Joe Lycetts late show, too brummy for my liking but whatever.
Re: scenery on tv, it’s usually trees, mountains and rivers, a bit of snow and sky. Now I’ve been a few places and seen a fair few combinations of said scenery and it doesn’t really give me the horn, especially once you’ve seen it on a massive tv it means you don’t need to go anywhere irl!
