Operation Mincemeat
Really good film. Loved all the 007 connections.
Happy Valley
If this doesn't win some awards then we may as well just pack up now. Outstanding British drama.

It's a fair bit more bitchy, with a lot more botox, but thoroughly enjoyable - in no small part down to the wonderful Alan Cumming

Not bad, you know what you're getting with the Yanks, only two episodes in, but the fact it was filmed at the same location as the UK one, is a plus for.

Re: What did you watch last night?
bit late to the party there mate..
pretty sure there were 5 seasons and a film l'immortale..
all brilliant.
based on a book and film of the same or similar name....book was non fiction too. the author on a hit list of the top Mafia people in that region..
Gomorrah (Italian: Gomorra - La serie) is an Italian crime drama television series created by Roberto Saviano for Sky Atlantic. Based on Saviano's book of the same name
Roberto Saviano (Italian: [roˈbɛrto saˈvjaːno]; born 22 September 1979) is an Italian writer, essayist, journalist, and screenwriter. In his writings, including articles and his book Gomorrah, he uses literature and investigative reporting to tell of the economic reality of the territory and business of organized crime in Italy, in particular the Camorra crime syndicate, and of organized crime more generally.
After receiving death threats in 2006 made by the Casalesi clan of the Camorra, a clan which he had denounced in his exposé and in the piazza of Casal di Principe during a demonstration in defense of legality,[1] Saviano was put under a strict security protocol. Since 13 October 2006, he has lived under police protection.[2]
bit of a spoiler in a way.....
A spin-off film titled The Immortal (L'immortale) was released in theaters on 5 December 2019.[12] The film is both a prequel and a sequel to the events after the series' third season, and stars Marco D'Amore reprising his role as Ciro Di Marzio.

Re: What did you watch last night?
My famous nephew told me that being the victim in Death in Paradise is a much sort after role among jobbing actors.
The actor usually has all their filming during the first week, but they have to keep them out there, until filming the rest of the episode has ended, just in case they need to reshoot or film something else.
So they get flown to a paradise island, do a weeks work and then get a free holiday for the rest of the week, on full pay, all food included.

Re: What did you watch last night?
The missus decided she was too tired to watch anything and left me to view something she had no interest in. I scrolled through stuff I had recorded and put on Jupiter Ascending I wouldn't recommend it, it was a sci-fi film that looked amazing but they forgot to employ any script-writers. The story was a complete mess, like they had taken an idea from a novel which would make a decent TV series and crammed it into a 2 hour film. One to avoid.

Started watching Hunters. Enjoying it but not loving it so far.
I reckon Al Pacino got his accent from the dad in Shine, the film about the Aussie piano player.

C5 No Place Like Home
Actor Ben Miller mooching about in Nantwich where he grew up.
Decent enough with a bit of local interest for us that possibly impaired our judgement of it purely as a TV programme. Not seen any of the others but will do to get a better view.

All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) on Netflix.
Not bad, for some reason though it didn't quite hit the heights I expected.
