Re: What did you watch last night?
I'm watching a British comedy drama series on Amazon Prime called The Outlaws written by the lanky bloke who's mates with Ricky Gervais
Thoroughly enjoying so far. Christopher Walken is in it too

Compulsive viewing in CRS household too, and yes,the new to this series, family of four from Essex can Foxtrot Oscar please.westham, eggyandchips wrote: ↑Sun Apr 24, 2022 10:37 am We love it.
Strangely, the only family I can't stand is the one from Essex.
Pete and Sophie are our favourites with Jennie & Lee not far behind. Never used to like Giles and Mary but they’ve grown on me over the years.

Boiling Point with Stephen Graham. A one shot take of a burnt out chef running a kitchen on a busy night.
A stressful watch, but it's the closest to the real thing (of working in a restaurant) I've seen. Would highly recommend, but wouldn't call it enjoyable, per se.
Available on Netflix and filmed in East London.

The Irishman on Netflix.
Not too bad, kept me interested for the 3 and a half hours.
De Niro and Pacino have aged quite well, Joe Pesci really looking his age though.

Not sure whether you're joking. Or did you not know that they used new technology to make their faces look younger?

Re: What did you watch last night?
Finished the Thief, his Wife and the Canoe, and the documentary that followed.
Loved it, the bare faced cheek of it all was wonderful, the casting and the acting spot on.
What got me in the documentary was those involved, workmates, police, reporters etc, all struggled not to smile or laugh about it - particularly the Family liaison guy

Navalny BBC2. A film about putins nemesis. Amazing scenes when the gang of poisoners is phoned up 1 by 1 to try and get info and one scientist behind the novichok sandwiches ( SH) sings like a canary,he’s since disappeared. Well worth a watch.

Re-watching seasons 3,4,5 of The Walking Dead

BBC iplayer
Life After Life
Watched the first two of the four episodes of this.
A story of a girl, still born in 1910, and then re-born alive, this continues through her life, dying and then living again, with 'narration' by Lesley Manville giving a lovely extra dimension. That's a fairly miserable attempt by me to describe what is actually going on and only with guidance from the much more 'switched on' Her OFTness it became clearer to me.
Some fairly dark events in an unusual tale but we're completely hooked and doubtless will watch to its conclusion tonight all things being equal.
Highly recommended

The Matrix Resurrections.
I lasted about an hour and a half, which is a lot longer than it deserved. I only gave it as long as I did because it was so awful I wanted to see where it was going. Horrifyingly, staggeringly bad. No redeeming features.

Re: What did you watch last night?
I'd been looking forward to the new series for so long, and it hasn't disappointed so far (although Kim looking about ten years older than the last series is close to a disappointment). Took me a little while to remember some of the plotlines, though. "I thought he died in the last series......."

Re: What did you watch last night?
other than a couple of throwaway episodes, this last and final series has been pretty bloody good.
and I actually didn't mind the last series to be honest.

Started watching Bosch, took about 10 mins before I realised it wasn't James Nesbitt doing an American accent
