Bullet Train - watched an hour and gave up - and I hardly ever do that with a film. It was just unfunny, sub par tarentenoesk, (Lots of flashback), boring movie. For an action movie, there certainly is a dearth of it. I just got bored and wasn't prepared to watch another hour of it.
Jake Gyllenhall is usually a barometer for a decent film and so it proves in this action thriller set against the backdrop of special ops in Afghanistan. Not your common or garden Guy Ritchie movie and all the better for it, and as always Jake Gyllenhall is good value. Worth a watch

Watched the last half hour of Soldier Blue last night, how the he'll did that get past the censors in 1970!
Saw it at the pictures - I was totally shocked. A very visceral film.

saw it at the cinema when it first came out.
stunning and shocking at the same time.
pretty much based on what happened at that time as we found out later....

He was bad in Okja. And by bad, I mean VERY bad. Came very close to ruining the whole film.

pretty old series now but I watched it from day 1. excellent show, brilliant cast. gets better imvho as it goes along.
saying it's "Western Themed" makes it sound like a cowboy thing but it ain't.
Walter Goggins is a steal in this.
bit later on and no spoilers Sam Elliot become a part of the cast.
and it was based on an Elmore Leonard short story "Fire in the Hole."
googling the cast I find
IT'S RETURNING !!!!!!!!!!!!
Justified: City Primeval premieres July 18.
which again is based on Elmore Leonard’s novel "City Primeval: High Noon in Detroit"
Didn't realise it was that old a series , I thought Timothy Olyphant looked good for 53 - as for Walton Goggins , has he ever played a Goodie ? Not that he's a baddie as such in this - I'm on E14 already and loving it .

I saw Soldier Blue [ 1970 ] along with Straw Dogs [ 1971 ] when they got shown at the Plaza Cinema in Bangor as a double-feature back in around '74 - I was driving back then that's how I know it wasn't 1970 .
I remember being more shocked by Soldier Blue at the time but when I watched it on DVD around 5 years back it came across as more of a comedy Western - I reckon the original had been censored to whatever's been shown nowadays - where did you see it ? Unless they've since released it in original form ?

Yeah, I saw a censored version, and it was garbage. The original was shocking and brilliant at the same time.
The first time "Saturday Night Fever" was shown on mainstream TV it too was heavily censored (Gawd know why) - it completely killed the film.

my observation at the time as I opined somewhere above....
iirc I took a girlfriend on a date to see that..
however it WAS "up the West End" and could be classified as such until we saw it..not sure why it would be censored, it wasn't "gore for gore's sake" or "sex and violence and nudity" for it's own sake wither.
we've come to know since that time, that in fact many, many instances of such occasions happened.
from our mates over at Wiki
it is inspired by events of the 1864 Sand Creek massacre in the Colorado Territory. The film provided the first motion picture account of the Sand Creek massacre, one of the most infamous incidents in the history of the American frontier, in which Colorado Territory militia under Colonel John M. Chivington massacred a defenseless village of Cheyenne and Arapaho on the Colorado Eastern Plains.
The account of the massacre is included as part of a longer fictionalized story about the escape of two white survivors from an earlier massacre of U.S. Cavalry troops by Cheyenne, and names of the actual historical characters were changed.

I noticed the Elmore Leonard connection .
so glad you are liking it mate...
a bit under the radar imvho I thoroughly enjoyed it. some of it goes a bit "jumping the shark" towards the end but it veers back on track.
Walter Goggins is brilliant in everything he's done. and been in some fantastic series.
The Shield was another where he was outstanding........
am SO glad it's coming back, if only a "limited series" which might be a one or two shot deal.
amazing in that Fire in the Hole is virtually a "short story"
Raylan is a brilliant character.
"can you really draw that gun THAT fast ?" "why not try me and find out."
