Both my lads have offered their netflix codes, in fact I'm fairly sure No1 son set our TV up for it, I just can't be arsed with it. As long as the BBC/C4 outlives me I'll always find summat to watch

We do have a habit of watching stuff in the small hours when on holiday abroad on a portable DVD thing we've got(Old School innit  ) so I'll perhaps look out for a DVD box set.

It's decent enough but not deserving of the praise it's received on here that's for sure. It's trying far too hard to be cool, the music is jarringly out of place and apart from the Irishman I couldn't get two sods about any of the characters. The plot is interesting and it's masterfully put together visually, but I can smell the Peaky Blinders in the dialogue and it's bothersome. Peaky Blinders got tiresome quickly for me.

It's not fit to lace Band of Brothers m-42 service shoes, a wild comparison.
Snap!

Never watched Peaky Blinders, enjoyed SAS Rogue Heroes, but agree not as good as Band of Brothers.

The last episode of The Watcher. I quite enjoyed it at first but after a while I began to tire of the convoluted and unbelievable plot.

Tbf it isn't supposed to be Band of Brothers though
It is supposed to be like Peaky Blinders - over stylised, a bit too 'cool', fun and and somewhat tongue in cheek
I suppose, if you don't like Peaky Blinders then you won't like Rogue Heroes much

You’re right but I think it’s actually got a bit more substance than PB. For instance, the ‘is it or isn’t it’ love story(?)/sub-plot between Paddy and the other lad is beautifully observed/nuanced.

Think it’s one of the best UK produced shows I’ve seen in forever. Genuinely.

I know it isn't mate. But old egg and chips made the comparison and I couldn't let it slide. Even taking into account genre/style it isn't fit to be mentioned in the same breath.

I like Peaky Blinders but it’s the very definition of style over substance.

But I agree you can tell both shows are made by the same bloke. The incongruous music (which I dig) alone is enough.

Just because I made the comparison, you don't have to mate. :newthumb:

I'm not a fan of PB but I love Band of brothers.

The English

Hooked after literally 30 seconds. The atmosphere, the cinematography, Emily Blunt. Pucka 👍🏻

Her OFTness wanted to watch this so, against my 'better' judgement I watched with her, I tried not to get invested in it but failed miserably, it's very very good

Sas rogue heroes, pretty much as background noise, not that impressed by the style, I didn’t like perky blanders much either.
