My understanding was that 'New Blood' is a soft reboot and allows for new viewers, is this not true? If it was just a season 9 I wouldn't bother with it.
It's definitely a season 9
Picks up where season 8 left off, constant references to to previous seasons etc.
If you have no intention of ever watching 1-8 then I suppose it's fine.
Some C4 police thingy - started with the phone call from parents about their baby had stopped breathing, then over the 2 episodes they built the case against the parents. Baby suffered huge trauma, difficult watch in fairness, particularly after the murder of Little Arthur that ripped me in half.

Last episode of Four Lives.
B and D Police have a lot to answer for.
Just on the production of the show, I thought Merchant performed the role brilliantly.
As for what I watched last night, we went in for the first ep of Green Planet. I am a complete sucker for this type of show, but this was absolutely brilliant. The race to the canopy between the different plants was brilliant.

There's a documentary on Iplayer The Grindr Killer
Shows how realistic the drama was
Yeah we watched it last night. Even a cursory 5 minute check of Port's laptop when he changed his story after the killing of his first victim Anthony would have been enough to probably convict him and 3 more young men would still be alive.
I worked right near there and after victim number 3 said to my missus that evening that it wasn't coincidence and it must be a serial killer.
At best lazy and incompetent. At worst they didn't care as they were gay men.

I think it was a combination of the two to be honest. Laziness and incompetence caused through an indifference because the victims were gay
Truly shocking when you consider that we are talking about something that happened within the past 10 years. You'd half expect it if it was the 70's or 80's
Mrs wanted to start Stay Close on Netflix so watched the first 2 episodes. Will probably finish it as its only 8 in total, but when those 2 freaks started dancing in front of their car I nearly gave up! WTF was that all about?

I watched it over Christmas and I'm still none the wiser..

World War Z (2013) recorded off Film4 last week. Nothing like a Zombie inducing Virus to take one’s mind off real life.
Would have been interesting to see the original planned ending. Though the low budget Welsh ending works quite well.
Reading that, although I'm sure the battle scene would have been a great watch the ending as is now worked for me and felt more in balance with the film - all be it, the plane crash did raise an eyebrow..

Finished Dexter - New Blood last night, this series felt more like the Dexter I enjoyed before it jumped the shark, the finale was ok, despite the obvious plot holes.
Maybe my standards were low, but overall I thought it was decent, killed some time anyway..
I liked it but the ending was predicatably disappointing.
