Re: The new kits thread
A great deal of thought went into that!?! I'm not that bothered but it does look cheap and the shoulder 'paint' will come off after a few washes. Hope the away kit is better.

Re: The new kits thread
I’ll wait until I’ve seen it in full. But is it the best I’ve seen? No. Is it the worst I’ve seen? No.
That early 90s kit was strange, as at the time when we were playing in it I wasn’t mad on it. But over time I grew to like it a little. My favourite era for shirts in terms of my lifetime was probably the early to mid 80s and I really liked the mid to late 90s kits. So I enjoyed this season’s, as that was pretty similar to the Fila kits we wore in the late 90s.
Why do I get the feeling they are going to spoil this new kit by doing the blue shorts and claret socks, or both claret shorts and socks crap that we’ve seen recently under these owners in 2014/15 and 2019/20? It was like watching us play in a Weymouth kit.

Most will be the same that have hated every single shirt since our Adidas 80’s editions.SiamHammer wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 4:54 am Love it.

I can see why it’s not to some peoples tastes, I think it’s quite cool though. But at the end of the day it’s just a football shirt

I can't really remember disliking any of our shirts.
I don't buy or wear them myself, anyway.

My son thinks it's - and I quote - 'pretty funky', so on that basis - I like it.

It's fine. The biggest issue for me, if it's real, is that they've sort of half committed to the 90s feel but then bottled going fully into it.

Re: The new kits thread
I think I'm just getting old. I remember thinking the first Pony kit was great when it came out, due to being about 12 at the time. I'm sure people in their forties back then thought it was horrific. This latest effort just looks a bit too much like it's trying to be fashionable, compared to this season's effort, which I thought looked pretty classy.
It's not really that important, and no one will care if the team are doing well, but it would be a shame for the team to have a bad season while also looking a bit daft.

A dirty great sponsor name right across the chest panel ruins any kit whether you like the design or not.
We should go claret front emblazoned with huge yellow crossed hammers and a blue back with ' We are massive ' written large in white lettering.

What's the team's nickname?
Pumas.
Right, I think I've got an idea for the kit design...

Re: The new kits thread
The early 90's original was horrendous. This one. It's ok. It's different. And at least it's not a garish early - mid 90's rip off.
I've got more of an issue with the alleged use of blue shorts again. I hate them. We wear white shorts at home

You could well be right.DusseldorfHammer wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 9:08 pm It looks more like one of next seasons Training shirts. We have use that sort of logo already on some of this year's training range, which looks rather similar https://www.officialwesthamstore.com/tr ... p-top.html.

Re: The new kits thread
Umbro tends to put the 'Umbro Pro training logo' as their emblem instead of the plain one used on match shirts and in recent times haven't always had the sponsor on it - like this one https://www.officialwesthamstore.com/tr ... ersey.html
The 'detail' in the collar, the regular Umbro logo and the sponsor makes me think it's the match kit. That we've ripped off parts of it from a training shirt is just poor

Re: The new kits thread
The original shirt for me was horrendous so choosing to recreate it was never going to excite me but I have to admit I think this looks better than the Bukta version.
