They've changed the rules this year so that there are no more discounted rates for new policies

Meaning hopefully that you won't necessarily have the annual ball ache of surfing through countless comparison sites. Unless you want to of course because your current provider is taking the piss.

Let me guess. Just like when they realigned the premiums for men/women and womens went up to make it 'fairer', new policies will simply just go up in line with existing policies?

My home & contents insurance expires on Saturday; last year I paid £194, my renewal quote was £201, which didn't seem too bad.

However after a quick search I found equivalent cover for £100. I think my current provider is taking the piss!
