Re: Little things that irritate you
People who have 'smooth motion' enabled on their televisions and/or do not take the simple 5mins to calibrate their TV after spending hundreds on it.
It looks stupid. It makes films look stupid and removes an enormous part of cinematic realism which makes your attempted enjoyment of the film, stupid.

I saw it a couple of days ago and you're right; it's f**king annoying.Joyeux Marteau wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 5:40 pm That’s really really really really really really really really really really really really thoughtful.

The thing is, I now know what it's advertising and as The Lovely Ms. Eggs said: "Well whatever you think of it, it's done it's job".
Which irritated me even more!

I've actually been boycotting them on the back of those b'stard adverts. Lost a bit of pork as a result tooFrankieMacsPerm wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 2:02 pm Apparently it's been going for a while but i've only recently seen it... the Domino's yodelling ad!! Bloody hell its annoying!

Ignorant c**** with no spatial awareness stupid right in the way, particularly in shopping centres and supermarkets, but also walking four abreast along pavements.
I would never dream of being such a prick and feel awful on the rare occasion that I'm away with the fairies and stood in someone's path.
****'s me off big style.

When you make your piss. Finish. Shake it. Shake shake shake. Shake again. You think you're done, tuck it back in your kecks when suddenly an unexpected pocket of piss dribbles down your leg. So you now have to endure the rest of the day with a pissy leg.

People who make some kind of grand gesture only to go back on it less than 48 hours later.
Poor.
Poor.

The transfer thread has become far more irritating since deadline day ended.

Re: Little things that irritate you
Is this the 'soap opera effect' thing? I disabled that at the first opportunity when I bought my new TV. I honestly can't watch a film with it enabled - it looks awful.rare as rockinghorse shat wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 9:27 am People who have 'smooth motion' enabled on their televisions and/or do not take the simple 5mins to calibrate their TV after spending hundreds on it.

Yep, that's it mate. Things are artificially made to look 60fps but they just look like they've been recorded on a camcorder.
It will make the most cinematic, dramatic scene look and feel like silly piss.

Re: Little things that irritate you
Yup.
It's not age either. I had the issue even in my 20s.
I have found that after the usual shake, waggle and choke, just standing there for a short while with my plonker hanging out freely, really helps.
Any excess flow naturally occurs like it would when you zip up and walk away, but you catch it in the act and you get rid of that last annoying bit.
