Little things that irritate you

Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

The point is to post it on your social media accounts in order to demonstrate to all your non-mates, fake-mates, family members you actually ****ing hate - that you’re at the concert/ match/ festival/ whatever.

For these people it’s just not possible for them to have a great time unless they’re showing everyone else what a great time they’re having.

The irony being, that if only they put their phone down and became present in the moment, like really present in the moment, they would enjoy themselves so much more.

Cash machines, that's all drivers are to these people.
When you are fortunate enough to attend a speed awareness course <cough> they will inform you that these aren't 20 mph limits, rather they are 20mph zones. Because they are "zones" the speed is indicated by traffic calming measures and signage is only required when you enter and exit said zones.

The only time that we've carried hand luggage that is max "allowed size" was when we got married abroad, no way was my wife going to let her wedding dress be put in the hold and possibly end up on a different flight to us :smiler:

But hand luggage is one of my pet hates, the huge bags that some people take and then moan when there is no room in the overhead lockers for them.

I can't believe that thousands of people are managing to restrain themselves as they shuffle through Westminster Hall.. their fingers must be itching.. I mean, who wouldn't want a selfie of the dead Queen's coffin behind a stupid, gurning face..

I've come across an Americanism worse than "Can I get", overheard in Subway at lunchtime, twice, by two separate Americans who as far as I can tell were not with each other - "Can I do".

As in:
"would you like salad?"
"yeah, can I do pickled and tomaytos"

Is this a good time to re-introduce the increasing used and mind numbing Off-Of. NOOOOOOOOO It's simply Off or From, Hearing or reading Off Of is like the verbal equivalent of watching a gingivitus sufferer double dipping in the freshly opened jar of Mayo.

TV adverts that use classic songs and insert lyrics to fit what they are trying to sell. The most annoying at the moment is the Flash cleaner advert that unashamedly uses Queens Flash.
