Re: Little things in life that make you smile
My dog.
Little Brown Lab. Getting on a bit now and had his cruciate operated on last year so we don't really walk him far now. Anyway, this morning I needed a break from work to clear my head so went for a walk up the woods. Dog was as excited as ever when i put the "walking trainers" on. Went to the woods and dog was off lead and having a great time disappearing and walking off to have a nose about. He was gone for a coupe of mins and came back soaking wet and stinking but with what was almost a smile on his face. Another walker said that they saw him chase a squirrel, couldn't stop in time as it went up a tree and went straight into the filthy pond in front of him.
Now this should be in the things that irritate me, but the little fella seemed to be really happy about having a run and genuinely didn't care that he stunk. Quick walk home and a wash off out the garden and now he's asleep at my feet making noises as he dreams.
Dogs really are Mans best friend.

I've always loved lavender, so much so I've planted a row of it under my bushes in the front garden.
I also love the smells of roses and violet.
My sister says that I "have the liking of scents that old women like.!"

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Went for a job assessment thing (some tests, so not as stressful as interview) at TFL yesterday. Got there 25 mins early, as did some girl. Got chatting to her and found out she was BA cabin crew, which was great as a) I'm also an aviation geek and b) she was very easy on the eye. Had a great chinwag and then found the assessment tests nice and easy too - excellent afternoon

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Went for breakfast late Sunday morning, missus and I, on the table next to us is a guy (late 50's/early 60's I guess) with his elderly mother. Missus asks what time KO later and what time I am leaving, when guy next to us asks "going to West Ham tonight", so we sat there for the next 15 or so minutes talking all things West Ham. they finish and leave, say our goodbyes etc, we finish and then go to pay. We are told guy we had been talking to paid for our breakfast and left a note saying "Up the Irons".
How lovely was that!

You and me both SH, just such a lovely thing to do wasn't it. Just because we support the same team, then the result later, pretty good day! His gesture is still making me smile today, hopefully I will get to re pay him one day, but I doubt it,which makes it even more lovely.

Noticing that as of now, there are exactly twice as many pages in this thread as the Mental Health thread. If only it could stay that way; that this thread could help minimise the other.

The prospect of sending Leicester down on the last day.
