No doubt you’ll wave at them next time you see them across the street asking them if they got the canister that they dumped in your skip … you’ll be able to keep them looking over their shoulder every time they are out, for some time!!dasnutnock3 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 24, 2022 12:58 pm Took it round, rang their camera doorbell, stood there with a massive ****-eating grin on my boat, holding the canister in one hand and the paperwork in the other. Heard movement behind the door... but no-one answered, funnily enough. Left it there on their doorstep with the paperwork poking out the top.
Still chuckling to myself now.

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Being called by work last night, and for some explicable reason, after the way they've been with me the last few years, agreeing to bail them out.
I think it was a piss take tbf - I went for a promotion and didn't get the job - and the bloke that did get the job is a complete rookie, with little training, and he got dumped in feet first to be bus station controller for the day, and they asked me to work with him to help him out and push him along.
Anyway, despite all that - I took control of it, got praised by management, and we absolutely smashed it under very challenging circumstances - train strike, armed forces day in Medway, and 17 drivers short.
I'm buzzing, and perhaps management may have actually realised just how ****ing good I am at that side of the business.

Coming across a tune on YouTube purely by chance that I've been after for nearly 30 years. Had it on a tape with no set list. Absolutely chuffed to finally know who the artist is. Now on the Cogs want list

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Not to take away from DL's fantastic news, but got an email today from the solicitor sorting our 10 year fixed mortgage, saying they will be paying us just shy of 2 grand for the difference. Should all complete on Friday. Then we get 500 quid cashback (no idea yet how I claim that though).
Was half tempted to not tell my wife about it but doubt I would have got away with it!

A lady came into my shop wearing this t-shirt yesterday. I work opposite one of the mega church cults places with it's own brainwashing schools & everything.
I told her she was brave & she said "I love arguing with those f*ckers"

It's quite amazing how it all works, even knowing the biology side it is absolutely mental watching it 'live'.Johnny Byrne's Boots wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 5:52 pm 8lb 4oz  I bet that made her eyes water!

Our boy born last August was 9lb 12oz, looked like an effin toddler waltzing out!

Top stuff, great you were there, would have thought that is a rarity for a Grandparent to be there.
Does your daughter know that is the easy part done with?

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Well, I was allowed to stay through the gory bit - that was the rules. Then it started to happen quickly, and she was all spread eagled and pushing whilst I was out of the way at the head end of the bed - and she was warned by the midwife that if I were to leave now, I'd get an eyeful, but if I stayed where I was, I couldn't see anything - at which point, whilst she had the gas and air nozzle in her gob, she looked up at me and them grabbed my hand and squeezed it.chelmsfordhammer91 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 29, 2022 7:23 pm Top stuff, great you were there, would have thought that is a rarity for a Grandparent to be there.

Immediately after that moment, the room got really dusty for some reason.
