Power washing the patio, getting the garden furniture out, and just sorting the garden.

Now time to relax with a cold beer.

We are summer ready baby, bring it on!

Down near Barry Island for the weekend and we went to visit a local castle.

Got my brother to stand in front of it, then sent a picture to the family WhatsApp group captioning it 'Coch (in front of a) Castle'.

Simple things and all that.

Living in a real community. I saw Tom from the takeaway and Jimmy from the pub in Asda and then a man complimented my Union Berlin jersey as I was scanning my stuff. Shopping is such a banal duty but made better like that.

Technically I live in such a community too but, due to the fact I keep myself to myself, I'm still the guy that everyone see's but nobody knows - despite being here for over 10 years now.

I’m not really the most outgoing person. I don’t like circling at parties but I’ll sit in the pub and talk to people. Have a nice handful of friends.

Northerners are quite chatty so you do get befriended if you let them.

I don't possess a smartphone but Jen does - she found this app on her phone that recognises birdsong and will tell you which birds are singing at any particular time by highlighting them in yellow - been sitting down the garden with it this afternoon .

Eurasian Collared Dove
House Sparrow
Willow Warbler
Goldcrest
European Goldfinch
Eurasian Wren

The App is called Merlin - absolutely fascinating .

Less stressful than watching the footie .

I've had a lovely day today simply chilling in the garden with a bit of sun and a bit of wine and not worrying about anything.
