My eldest’s performances in her kayak this winter. She’s trained much harder than her peers, as she did last winter, and has barged past them all to take top spot in her group. Her coach is delighted, the other girls are all miserable and bitter and most of them gave up after she passed them.

… yes, you are right! It’s not just me being hopeful.
A few bulbs emerging from the ground, an increase in birdsong … and dawn and dusk are earlier/later.

Free pies at work. Had chicken & mushroom but not gonna eat it, will take it home for the kids. Not because I’m kind or generous, I’m just trying to lose weight.

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Managed to eat outside at lunchtime today. I even had to put my sunglasses on and take my jacket off as the sun was too bright/warm.
It was still bloody cold when it went in again but for a few short minutes, it was very pleasant indeed.

After having may car so covered in thick mud and salt, to the extent the mud was so thick on the doors that you couldn't even see what colour it was, going out to it just now after I spent two hours cleaning it, and the sun catching it in such a way that it looks brand new.
Satisfaction indeed.

By the time it was sorted, many of us who have been doing (trying) dry jan will be back on the sauce, so it'd be a proper blast.

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
I'm at a bar on my favourite beach in Zihuatanejo and needed a poo but wasn't it the mood to wipe my arse so I swam out and shat in the Bay.
Next thing there was a fish feeding frenzy on my poo. They were going nuts.
I'll be eating steak or chicken for the rest of the week.

Re: Little things in life that make you smile
Finally, FINALLY after spending what seemed like all day on the internet, I managed to book Flights to and from Dublin plus connecting Train times that fit in with the schedule I have in ireland.
It was looking like it was never going to happen but I managed to fix it by spending an extra day in ireland. Which is nice
Have to fly from Brum though. East Mids flight schedules to dubin are a) sporadic and b) F'in expensive.
Train to Brum and back, flights to Dublin and back, plus insurance and priorty boarding for £100 or thereabouts. I'm a happy bunny!

And donating to KUMB - about time. I kept on forgetting but while I had my credit card out to pay for my Ireland trip, I remembered! Glad to be on board!
