My Samsung has been really glitchy for the last month. Twitter won't play videos properly, jumps back up to the top when scrolling etc.Hummer_I_mean_Hammer wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 10:35 am Has there been some kind of update on android which canes batteries?
Both my own and my work phone seem to drain down recently rather rapidly, I'm not watching more porn on my personal phone than before, so can't understand why.

Possibly, as I use bt a lot on my own phone, but I never have bt on with my work phone and both seem to be suffering. Strange.Greatest Cockney Rip Off wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 10:22 pm Mine too. Noticed it the other day when I was in a studio doing some recording. Put it onto Airplane mode and it stopped it draining at a rate of knots so I knew it was something to do with either the bluetooth or wifi apps. My money is on Bluetooth. That drains batteries for fun from what I've seen.

It will run out of hydrogen sufficiently dense to form new stars, but there will be hydrogen atoms whizzing about the universe for ever. They'll just be too far apart to coalesce into new stars.Awooga_Iron wrote: ↑Tue May 17, 2022 10:26 pm Could the universe run out of hydrogen?
(or the other light elements for that matter)
Nuclear fusion occurs in stars as hydrogen is turned in to helium and the infinitesimal change in mass is released as energy. Helium fuses to form carbon (I think) etcetera until iron remains and the star fizzles out or there's a supernova as the nuclear fusion stops and the star collapses under it's own weight then explodes. It's believed that the violent supernova can fuse even iron to form the heavy unstable elements such as uranium, and throw them out into space.
But what about all the hydrogen that's been burned? Will the universe simply run out?
You're right about supernovae. All elements heavier than iron are formed by nuclear fusion during a supernova explosion.

Isn't there a theory that black holes will hoover up everything else, leaving only sub atomic particles and a slight increase in heat in the universe once they collapse due to lack of matter? Hydrogen is "order" and everything should tend to disorder.Johnny Byrne's Boots wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 5:25 pm It will run out of hydrogen sufficiently dense to form new stars, but there will be hydrogen atoms whizzing about the universe for ever. Not that I'm any kind of physicist.

Sake of argument, if an atheist lived a charitable and decent life and God did in fact exist, would the atheist be allowed into heaven when he pops his clogs?

Assuming you mean the God as described in the Bible's New Testament, no. You don't even need to lead a decent and charitable life, you just have to truly repent of your sins before you die. And an atheist couldn't do that because they don't believe in God so can't repent to Him.

Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.”

Why does my btmail account work much better on a laptop than through either my phone or tablet?
I've tried both the specific ap and online via a browser, but it's just nowhere as good.

I think so. We were all born as sinners, even Jesus, as it is human nature to sin. But if we can truly let God into our hearts, we will go to heaven. I think.prophet:marginal wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 8:34 pm So, born a sinner, you have to accept your fate, before you can escape it?

There's an upcoming reunion sometime soon. They're advertising it on Centreforce and it does sound like it will be something special.southbrishammer wrote: ↑Fri May 20, 2022 12:33 pm I think so.
