Neither can I, TBH. If I hadn't got on the ladder when prices dipped after the banking collapse, no way could we ever afford to move here. I certainly couldn't afford it now.
I rented in Staines 4 years, and if I'm honest, I much preferred it to Weybridge.

While we're here, does June need to be abbreviated to Jun?

April, May, June. Classic names for women. Why not the other months?

July/Julie and Augusta are women's names, of varying degrees of popularity; Jan too, mostly as an abbreviation for Janet or Janice, but I do know one Jan where that's the full name.
Feb/March/Sep-Dec, I'll grant you, do not figure highly on lists of the most popular women's names

Re: Things you've always wanted to know......
My most recent cordless trimmer has died (meant to be waterproof, yeah right.. ).
Looking at the interweb 'skull shavers' seem to be coming up quite a bit. Anyone had one, reviews, etc. ?
TIA.

yes there is.
use the button that looks like fast forward on a VCR (i.e. two arrows and a straight line). If you click on that, it opens a box and you can enter in the page number and press return.
works across the site.

Why are taxis allowed to use bus lanes? They are no more efficient than ordinary cars, why do they get preferential treatment?

Apparently the term "wifi" doesn't actually stand for anything.

Because they're public transport which can be flagged down anywhere and they do take cars off the road - and in the case of Uber, quite literally they take cars off the road. And traffic islands. And railings. And lamposts. And actual traffic lights...southbrishammer wrote: ↑Fri Sep 16, 2022 9:38 pm Why are taxis allowed to use bus lanes? Even if one Taxi does as little as 20 trips a day, that's potentially 20 other cars not on the roads.

Re: Things you've always wanted to know......
One car doing 20 trips is not necessarily any more efficient than 20 cars each doing 1 trip though...
