30 years back Brizzle was home to a wide assortment of 'house' church groups (as I know to my cost). Fundamentalist to the nth degree, I expect they're still around.southbrishammer wrote: ↑Sat Sep 03, 2022 11:24 pm I'm not sure if it's the same elsewhere, but in Bristol for the last couple of years there has been a proliferation of "Jesus Loves You" type graffiti. Is there some kind of standby mode for those massive wind turbines?
This seems to be the only explanation for my repeatedly seeing three in a line, two turning, one totally still.
Or, is there any other?

The operators can start and stop the wind turbines remotely. There might be several reasons to stop wind turbines. If there is too much wind or if the wind is too turbulent it might damage the moving blades so they feather them and stops the turbine to prevent damage. It can also be that the wind turbine have already been damaged and they need to stop it to prevent further damage until maintainence crew can fix it. Another issue is that the wind farm might be producing too much electricity. There is a limit to how much current the transmission cables can take and also how much power is needed in a grid. So the wind farm might be asked to reduce their output to prevent damage to the grid or other power stations and they do this by stopping a number of the wind turbines.

(Not always but) why would a mild wasp sting from over a week ago suddenly start itching like crazy? I mean it stopped hurting after only ten minutes and it's like it's woken up.

Similarly, what was with the BORIS IS HELCH grafiti about on the M4 blue bridge just north of Bristol?southbrishammer wrote: ↑Sat Sep 03, 2022 11:24 pm I'm not sure if it's the same elsewhere, but in Bristol for the last couple of years there has been a proliferation of "Jesus Loves You" type graffiti. I’m assuming it was the same c*** who was responsible for ruining the much loved & evergreen Give Peas a Chance grafiti on the M25 in Buckinghamshire.

What????? That's been ruined?
That was the greated piece of graffiti since someone scrawled a D at the front of the sign at the edge of Aveley back in the 90s.

The owners can change, the manager can change,
The players change , we change our spending but we still never win anything .why is that

I've had this saying for years:rigoberts song wrote: ↑Wed Sep 07, 2022 5:34 pm The owners can change, the manager can change,

"If I could win the Euro lottery and win billions of pounds, I could donate it to WHU and they would buy all the best players in the world, obtain the best manager in the world plus the best coaching staff, and we would rebuild upton park - and we would still lose to Grimsby in the cup and get spanked by Brighton in the league."
WHU does, and hardly ever has had, the drive, commitment and the dedication to be a top club.
and maybe that's why we love them.

It’s gone, Sendo. And it’s a bloody tragedy.
Some numpty obscured PEAS with HELCH so it now reads .... give HELCH a chance.
Personally I hope HELCH is hung by his b*llocks.
