Been made favourite for the Swindon managers job randomly today, can't see that happening will surely take up a youth coaching role within the club.

As long as the Lingard thread is on the front page so should this one as a counter balance.

He enjoys fishing by Boca Grande, does Mark.
The literal translation of Boca Grande is Big Mouth.
It's a charming little town on an island off the West Coast of Florida.

"You won't realise how important Noble is until he's gone"
This has been said quite often on this thread, and in others, mainly in response to the unwarranted negativity Mark used to receive..
Appears to be true..

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend 500 up
Legs are gone etc etc..
It was never his legs that mattered most about Noble, it was always what was between his ears that was, which was lightening fast both on and off the pitch. Of course he'll be sorely missed around the place and it shows now.
It reminds me a lot of the time when we struggled to win without him in the starting XI but eventually, we finally found a way to win without him being in the side. And it feels like we have to learn quickly how to perform as a Team without him guiding them in the dressing room too. It will happen, but it could take time to get there. Problem is, Rice has to learn fast how to turn the corner for the Team now he's responsible as Club Captain. It doesn't help that most believe he's gone next summer so can his head be fully on the ball? Frankly he needs to grow a pair and wither take it on properly like Noble did, or relinquish duties and pass it on to someone who will give it their all much like Noble did. Sounds a bit harsh but we cannot wait for Rice to get a grip of the Team. He needs to start producing Captain performances and lead by example ASAP. And I'm sure that he can. Time to drag the Team by the scuff of the neck, Dec....

I'm sure this will come in time. Let him enjoy a bit of retirement first.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend 500 up
The below quote is from Bowen's pre match presser:
The attacker is asked what the dressing room is now like after Mark Noble's retirement...
"It's a bit strange! He was West Ham, and he still is. It's definitely a bit strange but we knew it was coming and it was gonna happen. I suppose you can never really prepare for it until it happens. We're just trying to continue what he helped build here."
Might shed some light on why we have started the season slowly, I reckon losing such a pivotal character and leader will take time to adjust and I wouldn't put it past being part of the reason we have struggled a bit so far.

I think I may of underestimated the influence he had in his role as captain. Does seem we’ve lost a certain togetherness.

Re: Mark Noble - West Ham Legend 500 up
For me noble held it all together as he was never going anywhere but whufc
There's no way we are spending this money in this transfer window without balancing the books , if this latest moyes nod on the lyon player at 35 million quid is true, then only one player leaving will balance the books
And we will need a new captain , for me somethings wrong in the dressing room and it's that , if all the players know there's a big name leaving yo allow the incomings be it as I expect delan but possibly bowen it'll cause issues in the squad,
We won't know for sure until September but
Our owners cannot afford the outgoing transfer spend and never would be able to
