If he's about the club. And visible to players and staff..........then his natural leadership qualities and experience are there for anybody at all who wants a chin wag with him....or with any advice sought.

Absolutely invaluable person to have on board.

It can't be measured "just" in the naming of him in a certain role....it's worth so much more than that. :newthumb:
I was just saying to a mate after the Everton debacle that the team underestimated how important he was to the club. He brings so many intagibles. So happy that he is back!

Personally, I think Noble has all the motivational attributes to become a good football manager. Sir Trevor was an excellent caretaker manager but didn't fancy the role, but I think Noble would love it.

Maybe someone can educate me otherwise
Whatever way you look at it, it keeps him in and around the club which in my mind, is a massive plus.

The return of Mr West Ham can only be good news for the club overall, I’m sure he’s got lots to learn, but the Harvard stuff suggests he knows that. Welcome back home Mark, every organisation needs someone to knit everything together, and that’s a role our Nobes can excel at.

So he now gets paid for the role he did off the pitch? Sounds perfect to me and just what we need based on some of the hound dog looks amongst the playing staff and youngsters moving or looking to move.

I love everything about this:

1. The fact that the club have recognised the need, and allocated money for the post.

2. It gives a great sounding board for Moyes and individual players, and provides a conduit between the two.

3. It addresses what I see as a morale problem.

Good stuff.

This is West Ham though. He'll be back in his kit on the bench before the season's out.

No he won't.

He'll replace Warburton as manager in March.

Thumbs up, I think.

I'd love to see the job description. It should be setting the philosophy/ style of play for the club at all levels.
