I bought that on the strength of the sample alone. The rest of it is pretty awful.Cockneyboy311 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 1:17 pm "5 pounds to get into my own bedroom? Ha! What have you done, turned it into a roller disco?"
An all time, 100 per cent '89 classic.Cockneyboy311 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 2:06 pm Ragga Twins did some bangers back in the day. Nice use of the Sweet Dreams synth on this one.

Re: Early 90's Yoof Culture
I had a Boymerang record!
Do any of you have a good old skool d'n'b/jungle playlist on Spotify? I used to have some good compilation CDs but I have no idea where they all are now, and it's quite hard to sort the wheat from the chaff.

An awful lot of the classics (ie 89-94) don't appear on Spotify, hence I've never bothered.Korea Hammer wrote: ↑Tue Feb 15, 2022 8:10 pm Do any of you have a good old skool d'n'b/jungle playlist on Spotify? Re: Early 90's Yoof Culture
I think this is right; this is in fact true for quite a lot of different styles, in that they were initially on small indie labels which haven't done any deals with Spotify, or have actually gone out of business.Up the Junction wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 9:52 am An awful lot of the classics (ie 89-94) don't appear on Spotify, hence I've never bothered.
Re: Early 90's Yoof Culture
Yeah Spotify is pretty useless regarding that era. In a way it's quite nice, the music being removed from these soulless greedy corporations and their platforms that devour everything in their path yes, i have a Spotify subscription. On top of pm's point, i would guess that loads of tunes would also have copyright issues with the amount of uncleared samples they use.
There's some YouTube channels that are excellent with the tunes they share (e.g., 2trancentral) but normally i look through Discogs. Todays early 90s joy, one of my favourites i've heard in some time...

There really is nothing to this track. Very simple indeed, and usually I wouldn't dig it, but mate, this just ****ing rolls! And it is daaark!

Re: Early 90's Yoof Culture
It's ok, I don't care for the two steppy breaks much, and the cut in amen is too fast.
This one beats them both. Shame it wasn't released individually. Very similar track to SB but with added amen

I just didn't appreciate the output of Basement Records enough at the time. What a great label. More epic bludclot jungle tekno.

Re: Early 90's Yoof Culture
in hindsight a quick like was not sufficient. What a tune and what an EP! "Time Space Continuum" is also excellent.
Would love this in the collection but a decent copy is north of £80.
