Re: Superhero ( & sci-fi / other relevant) films
Don’t think I’ve seen it mentioned but the Book of Boba Fett starts in a week and a half. According to the director, all of the trailers only show scenes from the first half of the first episode as showing any more would give too much away. I think this will be really good.

I hope the show is better than the trailers because the trailers are dull. Dull to the point whether I'm not sure I want to be bothered.

Yeah have to admit the trailers didn't do much for me either. Fett as the Jabba on Tattooine isn't the most appealing idea...

No Way Home is the best thing they’ve done since Endgame imo.
9/10 for me.

Saw Spider-Man with the 12 year old tonight. Good stuff and the strongest of the three MCU Spider-Man films by a distance.
I did think it was about ten minutes too long
Two credit scenes by the way on this one, the second right at the end.

Spiderman last night. It was good. I didn't like it as much as some here, but it was good. I don't think it got interesting until a little over halfway through the film. Once it got going it was good fun.

Hawkeye ep 6 out, and thankfully they've stuck the landing on this one - great finish to a great series.
(apart from the mid-credit scene, which was godawful)

Agreed on Hawkeye , a great conclusion to a great series that just got better and better with each episode.
It didn’t end how I thought it might have at one stage which was good.
Also agree on the mid credit scene, we only stuck with it to see if something meaningful was going to happen.

Gonna stick this on now to lighten the mood after that result.Chicken Run Supreme wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 2:52 pm Agreed on Hawkeye , a great conclusion to a great series that just got better and better with each episode.

Re: Superhero ( & sci-fi / other relevant) films
Matrix 4 is available from the usual sources in 4k (HBOMAX)
I love the Matrix, I know the original almost word for word, I’ve seen it more than any other film (save Empire).
The second and third were unnecessary back then, the fourth imvho even more so.
It was never going live up to the original and it didn’t/couldn’t but it wasn’t terrible at, in fact some parts were rather good.

Hawkeye final episode. It was good. They chose the safe option for the conclusion. I think they missed an opportunity or two to really make things interesting, but I get why they ended the way they did. Good series. Much better than anticipated.

Re: Superhero ( & sci-fi / other relevant) films
I quite enjoyed the Matrix. The first half felt like the Director made it and it’s actually really good. Second half feels like it’s more Warner Brothers film and gets a bit same old.
If you’re a fan of The Matrix I think you’ll enjoy it.

Re: Superhero ( & sci-fi / other relevant) films
Watched Spider-Man: No Way Home (Watts, 2021) tonight. Far and away the best of the three MCU spidey movies, although that's not saying much; I was never truly sold on Homecoming since Peter was so dependent on the Stark tech in his suit it barely felt like a Spider-Man movie (Vulture was excellent, though), and Far From Home was imho one of the weakest, most forgettable pictures in the entire MCU. Whilst a few elements from this new one still didn't quite add up for me, and whilst one or two character beats didn't ring true, I remained engaged and invested throughout, something I haven't been to a significant degree with a Marvel pic for some time.
I don't want to say anything specifically just yet, but I think the main protagonists had a lot of great chemistry together. I didn't think I'd enjoy them together as much as I did, but they were a lot of fun. As was the movie in general. Felt like a proper old-school superhero movie - dare I say "old school" about a movie within a genre that's only been really big-time for a couple of decades? I think I do - instead of a big glossy advert for the next movie.

Re: Superhero ( & sci-fi / other relevant) films
First trailer for Dr Strange and the Multiverse of Madness is out (which seems to be identical to what was in the end-credits of the Spider-Man film)
If you haven't watched the What If series, you're going to need to watch episode 4, and ideally 8 & 9, to get the full backstory of the character at the end.

The book of Boba Fett is actually quite good. He suffered big time after his return of the Jedi exit.
It's not like The Mandalorian
