New Spider-Man trailer released
You know what - I'm less interested in the film after that trailer than I was after the first one.

I always assumed Fat Freddy's Cat was male! What is this? The Woke Brothers? Am joking - I couldn't give a monkey's. I hope the cartoon is a success but have a feeling it'll struggle to find an audience.Kludgehammer wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 3:41 pm Not superheroes (apart from maybe their superheroic levels of substance consumption) but certainly comics (or comix, to be pedantic) related, coming soon to a screen/internet near you - The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers:
Kludge, I suspect you and I clocked up similar amounts of time in comic book shops when younger.

Fat Freddy's Cat is categorically (sorry!) male.

I used to have a Fat Freddy's Cat t shirt. I can't remember why, as I was only vaguely aware of The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers.
Sadly I can't remember if any feline genitalia were on display.

Pre-order for Ghostbusters Afterlife already up at Zavvi at noon (or now if you're a Red Carpet member), is this the franchise getting back on track I wonder?
Again, I didn't find the recent one THAT bad, other than Hemsworth's role, which although nice to look at, didn't really work.

Spider-man looks decent.
Caught Shang-Chi again last night on Disney+ it wasn't that long ago I watched it in the cinema, but better than I remember.

Wow
Dare I say it, I think I enjoyed it as much or possibly more than the original. It’s a perfect love letter to the original. I’ll wait until more have seen it before giving more away. But yeah, busting makes me feel good.
2 end credit scenes by the way

Excellent news, trying to persuade the daughter to allow me to take her next weekend. Do you think it would pass a 12 year olds test? She liked the original.Rio wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 5:38 pm Saw Ghostbusters last night.

Didn't know this was even happening, tbh. Just watched the trailer and it looks more serious than slapstcky like the original, if that makes sense. Different times, different audience tastes and all that. Still.... Paul Rudd which should mean funny, so...... funny?

I think she will. Nothing too different in terms of content from the original

Its not laugh out loud but there’s the humour and charm of the 1984 effort

Re: Superhero ( & sci-fi / other relevant) films
Watched Shang-Chi today, it's a lot of fun but the CGI/greenscreen parts are very low-rent for a Marvel film in 2021.

Watched Hawkeye ep1. OK, but as usual for Marvel TV it's a pretty slow start

Pleasantly surprised by Shang-Chi. Thought it was well put together.
I usually can’t stand all that fantastical/other-realmy **** you often get in superhero films but it works in the context of a classic martial arts flick which is essentially what it is.
One of the better Marvel films of late.

Re: Superhero ( & sci-fi / other relevant) films
I’ve seen both now, thought it was ok. I liked the smaller scale of the show, Marvel doesn’t always need the CGI fest that plagues their movie’s endings.Kludgehammer wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 2:09 pm Watched Hawkeye ep1. OK, but as usual for Marvel TV it's a pretty slow start
I don’t think the bar has been set particularly high for their TV shows but it’s a very easy and decent watch. 6/10 so far.
