The enchanted Isle of Mists. Is this part of the main quest the beginning of the end of the game or the "start of it"?
I had to look it up as I couldn't remember but if you are a completionist like me you will leave it until you've done everything else you want to do. The wiki states the following
The Isle of Mists is a main quest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Important: numerous quests, some of which involve major sub plot content, will be failed or rendered unavailable after the warning given at the beginning of the quest.
Yes, I missed the plot about killing King Radovid I think, other than that I don't think I missed anything really important for the ending. Ilse of Mist was just a small quest to save some dwarves before going straight to the Battle of Kaer Morgan.
Maybe I'll go back to do it again sometime, but I also have DLC's included and I'll probably do those first.
Is there any point in spending the resources to make witcher armour? I'm level 21 now and none of the Witcher Armoure I can make is anywhere near as good as the stuff I have found adventuring?

I have the Griffin Superior armour, generally regarded as the best of the medium ones, but it depends on style of play. It's very good if you like using signs for example.
Ok I'm level 28 now. I've been avoding the main quest and just faffing around exploring monster dens, "?" marked locations and local/witcher quests. Which was fun.
I decided to go back to the main quest and Jeez what a palarva. I'm at the bit where they are tring to life the curse of the disfigured guy. It's all Go there, get this, do that, kill that - cut scene after cut scene after cut scene - then get more stuff, oh I need more stuff etc etc. It's getting a bit tedious.
Also the types of monsters are kinda limited. If I have to kill another drowner/wolf/Harpy I'll go bonkers.
I'm not slagging the game off, as I quite like it and I play it almost every night for a few hours - but boy it's a bit of a struggle sometimes.
