Fishbone wrote:Dogmeat can also get the Cryolator weapon for you from Vault 111 – just bring him there and ask him to fetch items.
I cannot get him to do this.
Do you need to be at a certain level?

^^^ Just discovered that you cannot do it with dog. Only after certain mission dialogues have named him as Dogmeat, can he get to cryolator.

Just got it on with Preston. The Wasteland is a lonely place.

Level 29 now. Enjoying it and picked up 13/20 Bobbleheads

I eventually lost interest in my second playthrough with all the DLC, but I did sink a lot of time into it. Same with Skyrim.

I wish they'd do a remaster of Fallout 3 (inc DLC), with restored content and maybe the engine updated. My favourite of the Fallouts.

Glitched to f***, New Vegas IMO. Not a bad game but often crashed on me, and I've personally never finished it because of this.

New Vegas is my favourite even with the gosh darn cassadores! I hated those bugs.

Fallout four was good for a shooter but not a fallout game if that makes sense, still put over 150+ hours into it!

Finding FNV a bit of a drag so far, can barely kill a thing. Have teamed up with Boone now though so he deals with everything above Powder Ganger strength.

Has crashed on me two or three times to now.

Only two or three times you're lucky! :D

You'll soon level up and things will even up for you!

If you see red dots moving fast on your compass run away, they're the aforementioned cassadores and they will ruin your day!

I hope you're enjoying it though.

It's much better now I've levelled up and taken on Boone as a hired hand (great for sorting out those pesky bands of Legionnaires). Still crashing a fair bit though... frustrating, but not a game killer.

Cazadors are without doubt the WORST enemy in any Fallout game I've played. You need good health, a strong and accurate weapon, stocked multiple poison remedies and health potions and two sharpshooter sidekicks (Boone and the Dog are best).

If you go wandering the mountains and come across a Cazador nest and don't have one of these I've stated it's likely curtains.

Glad to hear you're finding it better! It is a great game, I hope they redo it or remaster it at some point as I'd like to play it again.

I'm ok with the Cazadors as you can generally outrun them. It's the roaming bands of Legionnaires who get me!

Have you been to the quarry yet? I wouldn't recommend it!

Oh man! That brought back some memories. Took me a Guass Rifle and a few stealth boys to get that right.
Now I'm aware there's a Fallout: New Vegas thread that might be worth floating over many pages back in the gaming section.
Should be an interesting read and will be beneficial UTJ.

Thanks Stoney, hadn't noticed that. Will have a browse.

Quarry - yes, steered clear since discovering what lies in wait there! Think the only places I'm yet to touch are in the corner where the Boomers live.

I went in there once I was fully levelled up, with the best armour I could get and the best weapons.

I thought nothing could hurt me, I was very badly wrong. . . Needless to say I did not go back.

Ta for the heads-up, Stoney - the Merc's gun as mentioned in the stand alone FNV thread holds the key to dealing with the quarry!

No problem!
After suggesting you check it out I read through there a bit and enjoyed some of the old posts I and others had made, it took me back to playing it.
A flawed but enjoyable game, though it's one I still haven't completed thanks to bugs.
