Re: UFC
Not sure about either of the decisions in the last two fights, both very close mind!
Joe Rogan's post-fight interview with Ankalaev was a bit muggy I thought.

Re: UFC
Time to cut Till, IMO. Don’t see a road back for him after another defeat. He was a size bully at 170 and is undersized at 185, plus he’s always had a limited skill set. Not good enough for a roster spot, even if Dana had high hopes for him bringing in UK interest.
Pimblett’s decision to turn “heel” was a bit unexpected but I suspect he’s been advised it will help generate interest in his fights, and thus make them more profitable. Sounds like he was lucky to get the W last night and could well be time to change his camp.

Re: UFC
saw quite a few of the early fights, the young Mexican kid Rosa looked very good. only 18 too.
ditto Ponzinibbio. Topuria looks a good fighter too.
Till is finished completely, reports this morning is that he tore his ACL again
unfortunately fell asleep just before the Pimblett fight and woke up to see the judges decisions met with disapproval for the main event.
the graphics they showed - didn't seem to me that Ankalaev didn't win the fight.
some of the scores lately though................
was a long day yesterday. wore myself out shouting at the England game..

I agree not sure where paddy trains now, probably Liverpool, but if he wants to move forward he should start training at on of the american gyms, he's got potential but has also got some bad habitsdasnutnock3 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 11:47 am Time to cut Till, IMO. Ankalaev won rounds 4&5. Jan won rounds 2&3. Round one was cagey and could have gone either way imo.Cuenca 'ammer wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 12:25 pm

Next Generation Gym in Liverpool. I can't believe he's not being coached to keep his hands up and his chin down, absolute basics.

UFC pay-per-view price raising in 2023 for fourth time since ESPN broadcast deal
Starting with UFC 283, the standard price for UFC pay-per-view events on ESPN+ is set to be raised to $79.99, an increase from their current price of $74.99.
The Sports Business Journal on Wednesday broke the news.
The decision marks the fourth price increase for UFC pay-per-views since the promotion struck a broadcast deal with ESPN in 2019. The cost of UFC pay-per-views was previously raised in early 2020 from $59.99 to $64.99, then again to $69.99 at the beginning of 2021, then for a third time to $74.99 in 2022 beginning with UFC 270.
ESPN+, the subscription service required in order to purchase UFC pay-per-views, also recently raised its price by 43 percent in August from $6.99 a month to $9.99 a month.
no doubt there's a great interest in UFC fights in general and of course some in particular..
ESPN certainly getting their money's worth......

Re: UFC
Videos surfaced of Dana & his wife exchanging smacks to the face on NYE (she smacked him first, he retaliated). He’s trying to downplay it as a regrettable drunken moment, and given that fight promoters are sleazeballs at the best of times, wouldn’t surprise me if he gets away with it and avoids “cancellation”.

UFC 283: Teixeria vs. Hill
January 21, 2023
Main Card
Glover Teixeira vs. Jamahal Hill Title Fight
Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno Title Fight
Gilbert Burns vs. Neil Magny

Teixeira to regain the title ?
actually I'm interested in the Figueiredo/Moreno fight.
the Johnny Walker fight might be a good one although I know nothing about Craig.

Re: UFC
Craig is a good, not great, LHW. Decent submissions, good grappling and fairly basic, if improving, striking. Has beaten Jamahal Hill, but lost his last fight. Walker is the better striker and is favourite to win tomorrow, and I agree with the bookies, even with his suspect chin.
