He consistently dropped back into a three in the middle to link play centrally with Rice and Soucek, and even dropped back to pick the ball up off our CBs (as well as make a game saving tackle late on).

A joy to watch last night.

I honestly thought he was done for after his major injury - which was a shame, as I've always loved this little fella - but the levels he's playing at now, are arguably better than they were pre-injury.

He's in a slightly more defensive role than he was when he was playing the traditional number 10, but blimey is he starting to excel at it.

Almost 7 years at the club now, and just 8 games shy of 200 appearances. Our little jewel, and how happy am I to see him have this new lease of life.

Long may it continue.

I had a performance appraisal at work yesterday and,using the terminology that the micro managers above me would use with their HR handbooks to hand, I would say Manu is “exceeding expectations”
He is a key player whether he starts on comes on from the bench and it is great to see him in the National squad again.
