His first goal today was a thing of beauty, control, technique & finish were another level...
Like having a free Lingard some might say...
Delighted for him & us after his struggles...

Don’t get me wrong I love Lanzini. But how many times now has he been ready to go back into the side, have a couple of good games and then get an injury setting him back another few weeks?

He probably should start vs Chelsea but I think we need to seriously think about moving him on now. He’s shown no consistency in either performances or injuries for years.

Now, get in line and take a shot at me :crylol:
I stand by this. Amazing goal today, beautiful stuff. But let’s see if he stays fit until the end of the season. I’m still expecting him to break down.

You could say that about most of our team to be fair. All you can judge is their performance/quality when they are fit and at the monent he is a delight to watch.

While you may be proved right, this is different for me.

Players like Lanzini, Benrahma and Vlasic will always be hit and miss to a certain extent, but the past few seasons I've seen Lanzini go missing, ducking challenges and getting pushed off the ball. That's the difference I'm seeing, that Argie aggression is back.

I wrote in the match thread GOTM contender but he’ll no doubt be beaten by a routine Salah goal.

I remember he played excellently at his first match at Selhurst Park (they had a player sent off and he totally ran the 2nd half).

He also scored once, in a 0-1 game, from a Cresswell cross, which was a stunner.

Today's performance was brilliant. His close control for that goal suggests he's got ice in his veins.

Love you Manu :hamm:

Been written off more than anyone except Noble and he’s bounced back.

Had a horrible injury and took him a while to get the zip back but he’s our 10. Most potent AM we have.

Highlight of the day was that wonderful goal. Had it been 24 hours before it would’ve been in the running for moment of the year. Beautiful.

I query whether Fornals and Manu can play in the same side. Both wasted anywhere other than that central slot.

After Arthur, of course, but I know what you meant.

Is he now a first choice for us?

Honestly, it feels to me like having a new player at the club. On the periphery for so long but now a starter.

A few months ago our starting eleven was very predictable. Lanzini and Vlasic now putting pressure on them 👍

Long may it continue.

Another one I got wrong in the summer. I'd have moved him on, but he has been quality. Not just today but for weeks.

So pleased for him after all of his problems and I hope he can stay fit.

Just keep him away from the national team. They nearly killed his career last time he played for them.

Jonathan Pearce's commentary on MOTD does not do Lanzini's goal justice. If Salah scored that he'd have been creaming his knickers. Instead it was just a routine "oh that's a goal, it's 2-0".

WTF happened to that bloke? He was an awesome commentator on Capital Gold back in the 90's.

I said in the match thread that that was one of the best goals I have ever seen a West Ham player score. Technique was amazing.
