In the past few minutes, a jury in Washington DC has found Steve Bannon --- Donald Trump's former presidential adviser --- guilty of contempt of Congress. He faced criminal charges after defying a legal summons to testify about last year's riot by supporters of the former president at the Capitol Building. Mr Bannon, who's 68, could face up to two years in prison.

I don’t know, I’m assuming most senior judges were appointed by Trump.
He SHOULD serve time - he incited a coup, sat on his backside and watched it unfold, and only when he could see that it was going to fail he called it off, albeit halfheartedly.
Lock him up , to paraphrase what he said should happen to Hillary Clinton.

You don’t get to trumpet “record GDP” whilst ignoring other parts of the equation. The whole Obama/Trump debt thing is just good AIDS/bad AIDS.

As Shabu said, he gave a tax cut for the rich and increased inequality.

He was elected partly on a platform where he was going to sort out the trade deficit. He did not.

It isn’t about nobody giving him any credit, you have presented an incredibly one-eyed view of part of his presidency from someone that you think is credible but it turns out is essentially on team Trump, then you think everyone is biased when they tell you that has case has got a few holes in it.

And let’s not forget his handling of the pandemic- bleach injections anyone?
Even worse than how our government handled it, and that’s saying something!

Obstruction charge has always appeared to be to more clear-cut case compared to the one for Seditious Conspiracy (although many are obviously guilty of both, the latter much harder to prove in a court of law. As for proving the former..

First idea from his speech tonight: All homeless to be moved to giant tent cities erected in the burbs.

Second idea: In lieu of a wall on the border, build a border length Walmart on the border. Immigrants needing a job work at the Walmart, patrons from the US shop there. Win win for stopping illegal immigration and for boosting the economy.

I don't know about other US based posters but my internet is chock full of trump ads at the moment.

"Would you vote for trump a 3rd time?"

"Is the media corrupt?"

"Illegals are massing at our southern border. Only one man can stop them"

All with pictures of the fat slob standing in front of the US flag or an eagle (or an eagle dressed in the flag carrying an AR15).

And the Election cycle is months away. All that money he took in after claiming the election was stolen is being spent now. I can only imagine what it's like if you have regular television.

The longest sentence yet for one of the trump terrorists that stormed the Capitol building on January 6th last year.

Guy Reffitt of Texas is getting at least 7 years & maybe more. He's a member of the 3 percenters which is some far right shady group.

This is the bloke who, after returning home from the attack, threatened his teenage son against grassing him up saying "Traitors get shot".

Interestingly, he now claims he's turned his back on trump & that view but his wife has a GoFundMe page up calling him a Patriot & saying he was doing what he had to against a corrupt government. So I doubt if he's that far removed from trumpville.

His two daughters say trump should be in jail for life for what he's done to their father.
