Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Obviously, it would be illegal to take alcohol into the ground and I would never suggest such a thing, but does anyone know where I could get a glass, ceramic or plastic hip flask?
I used to use my metal ones when off on a country jaunt, but need something a little more lightweight.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I'm afraid I don't agree with you at all.
On average it used to take about 1 second to push your card in the readers at UP compared to 3-4 seconds (maybe longer) for people to work out how to get from the gate.
So due to the club's poor ticketing strategy, it now takes the average bod 3 times longer to get into the stadium due to the system. If you times that by the amount of people entering the stadium it's not hard to work out why there are huge queues...

I don't understand how it takes 3-4 seconds to hold a phone to a scanner, but only 1 second to hold a card in a scanner.LincolnshireHammer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:46 pm On average it used to take about 1 second to push your card in the readers at UP compared to 3-4 seconds (maybe longer) for people to work out how to get from the gate.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I see no difference whatsoever. The card readers at the new place are virtually the same as at the old gaff.LincolnshireHammer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 4:46 pm I'm afraid I don't agree with you at all.

The main issue is traditionally people have arrived 10 minutes before kick off and that isn't really practical with the new place in terms of numbers and security.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I think the difference is everyone knew how the card worked, a quick in and out jobby.
With NFC, people don’t know whether to put it under the reader or hold it up against the reader, costing valuable seconds.
I hope as time progresses people will get used to it and remember what to do…

The wall needs to come down, no need for it and ruins the experience for those of us next to away fans.

Ours used to be Port and Brandy - with different fellas using different brandies. My mates dad used to bring whiskey mac which was lovely on a cold night game err I mean a grouse shoot.
Trust me they didn't when they first introduced it. There were queues down Castle Street which people dicking about.LincolnshireHammer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 11:38 pm I think the difference is everyone knew how the card worked, a quick in and out jobby.
What this is about is change and people being different in their acceptance or ability to adapt.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Not saying that it's dirt cheap or anything, but the "cheapest pint at £7.30" is just wrong. I noticed one was £6.80 on Sunday. Can't recall what, and that might not have even been the cheapest.Westbourne Bill wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 5:59 am Here you go….the cost of a pie and pint at every PL club.
