Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
The club have been asked yes.
How exactly will that wall prevent anything being thrown?
Man City threw plenty today, that’s for sure…
It’s more about sanitising any atmosphere, which it definitely did today…

Looks like the best part of the ground is now the section to the right of the away fans as you look towards the centre circle from the away end. They’ve proper stifled 113

My boy paid over a fiver for a standard diet Coke, the ones from the mixer taps that are 90% soda water.
I know things at grounds are always expensive but that is a proper rip off.

Couldn’t sanitise it much more. The place is dead.
Looking forward to seeing a proper ground next week.

Bloke behind me booing at half time, **** atmosphere...I really can't stand the stadium and I'm not keen on a lot of our home fans either.Doc H Ball wrote: ↑Sun Aug 07, 2022 9:19 pm Couldn’t sanitise it much more. The place is dead.

I'm gonna save myself some time and pick and choose home games
I'll do all the aways happily
Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Are tickets still being given free to Newham residents?
A couple with a girl of about three (and her buggy) sat in empty seats next to me this afternoon. They only had two tickets, which weren’t together or even in the same row but the chap didn’t seem to understand when I explained these weren’t their seats.
After taking lots of photos the mother and daughter disappeared about five minutes into the game and the bloke went at half time.
Did they really pay £65 each for the tickets but not watch the game I wonder?
It’s a shame that they didn’t have three seats together in another part of the ground where people tend to sit as that would probably have be a more positive experience for them all.
Brady’s assertion that the whole ground is a family area simply means that some families don’t enjoy the match as much as they could in a designated area - like other clubs do.

The wall looks a little bit extreme but at least it means a few rows that were covered off have returned.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
As a Newham resident I can assure you the answer to this is no. In fact there were very few tickets given to Newham residents, despite what you may read elsewhere. Newham also had to write off the £40illion they leant to West Ham (for ground reconfiguration?).
Newham residents have been well and truly shafted.
I've no idea why there isn't a public outcry.
Edit.
I don't include the Robin Whales box in this as I've no idea if it still exists.

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
Why did Newham have to write it off?
Did Sully offer 35 quid a month take it or leave it or we'll loan a ground off Redbridge?

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
From memory the original deal was that Newham residents would have some sort of use of the stadium, although it was always unclear what this use would be(massive piss up every year?). That's what the money was supposed to be for.
When it became obvious that this wasnt practical, somebody decided to just write it off.

That wall would be hilarious if it wasn't actually true. Absolutely abhorrent and mind boggling, who signs this stuff off!?!?!?!

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
We was in the supporters club before the game and got approached by the new owners of the bar.
It seems they have bought the bar and the orbital slide and and plan to use the area like a bid park.
They want to put food stalls in the area between the bar and the slide .
They also want to expand and improve the bar ,which will be good news for us who use the supporters club.
It was sadly a shambles after the game when they did not open the upper bar and then shut the lower bar at 7 .
There was a lot of unhappy members who could not get in ,including some of our group but using our combined effort we found a way in for them.
If it comes off it will be excellent,£25 membership gives you jugs of fosters for £15 or Heineken for £18 .

Re: Olympic Stadium Discussion and Questions
I thought there would be more uproar about the wall on here.
I was in block 113, i've been moved to 112 and people on my right hand side are people from 112 originally have moved to 113? So people that were on my right hand side before are now very very far to the right which is a shame.
Other than the wall (disgraceful btw), I do like the new re-development of the West Stand.

If you want cheap beer then yes but they will have to sort out a few things and hopefully they will.jabbaglob123 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 10:05 am Is the supporters club membership worth it? Was considering paying the annual membership
They have screens in there where the show live games.
A lot of dedicated people have kept this club going and they deserve support.
