The Olympic/London Stadium: Poll #2
Moving swiftly on, a poll for everyone to vote in.
"Do you believe that, as a result of the move to a larger stadium, the current Board will deliver regular European football within five years?"

Re: The Olympic/London Stadium: Poll #2
We need major investment in the squad to achieve that and this mob have already proven there not prepared to put there money where there mouth is.
Re: The Olympic/London Stadium: Poll #2
I'd doubt we would even be guaranteed regular Premier League football, let alone Europe.

There is a difference between the question in the heading and in UTJ's email.Up the Junction wrote:Moving swiftly on, a poll for everyone to vote in.

I voted no and would do to either question as sadly I don't think any club can get regular European football without a lot of money behind them - and the new stadium is not going to generate the sort of money required.

I guess the logic behind the question is that the board claimed that it would.
Even less likely than when we were at the BG I think.

UTJ: I think this poll is a bit pointless as the answer is obvious
I think the answer to the first poll is far more interesting - particularly if it attracts 1,000 votes which should give it some credibility
Let's not detract from the original poll with others less relevant

As much as I would like it to happen its a no from me...
Clubs that do that sort of thing tend to have a plan on how it will be achieved.
Our lot spout a load of old bullocks and make it up as it goes along....

I voted no .... but with the caveat that it would be almost impossible for any owners to 'guarantee' regular top five football ... to do that would mean having a better squad than at least two from Arsenal, City, Utd, Chelski, Liverpool and the Spuds ... that's a big ask ...
Top seven and challenging for top four ... that's a realistic aim ....

UTJ: for the reasons people are already pointing out this poll is pointless and is unlikely to gain many serious votes - therefore the Board would take little notice of it
The original poll was a fair question which it if gained 1,000 votes the Board could not ignore
You should encourage all fans for and against the move to register their vote on the first poll

That's what they told us we would be getting but investment was and is needed to get thereIronworksDave wrote: Top seven and challenging for top four ... that's a realistic aim ....
They have proved they can't offer that investment
Cheap rent with them taking all the cash whilst filling the squad with loans and freebies seems to be the reality

I'd imagine the idea is to collate multiple polls to produce a report/some analysis on the general feel1mcavennie wrote:UTJ: for the reasons people are already pointing out this poll is pointless and is unlikely to gain many serious votes - therefore the Board would take little notice of it

This poll supports a good reason as to why people voted no in the first

Not a chance, for the simple reason they won't invest sufficiently for it to happen .
Sullivan was quoted in the summer as saying the new gaff would only generate a £12m in additional revenue compared with the Boleyn .
That's a left back from Stoke .

I really wanted to say yes but the purchasing policy is so dire, penny pinching, shortsighted and wasteful, I can't see us attracting or paying for the players to get us there. There's no clear plan or strategy just fighting fires and trying to stay afloat, using mediocre loans and has beens.

Regular, well we just had 2 seasons in Europe but it didn't look like the club wanted to progress
Didn't Sullivan say European football in 5yrs back in 2010 ?

I can explain that!brownout wrote:There is a difference between the question in the heading and in UTJ's email.
It's because you're limited to a 100-character poll question (hence why I put the full version in my post).
And yes, as admin I suppose I could poke around in the code and change that
