Just to show how much football has changed, in the late 60's/early 70's i used to live in the same street as Peter Brabrook. Nice houses, but not the sort of place todays footballers would live. He also played for Orient and was class act. R.I.P

Not old enough to have seen him play, but as others have said would have loved to have seen that team.

I only vaguely remember him, right on the very edge of being before my time.

Sad news.
Perfect winger for the style of the sixties. Many fond memories.

Re: Peter Brabrook R.I.P.
Was a real favourite of mine when I was a kid. Very skilful winger. Saw my first game in 1967 & saw Peter play several times towards the end of his Hammers career
Should also be remembered that he played for England in the 1958 World Cup
After he left us he played a big part in Orient's promotion from Div 3 in 1969.
When he retired he ran a Butcher's in Forest Gate, if memory serves

RIP. Just about old enough to have seen him but my memory isn't quite up to it....
I do remember his time at Billericay though. part of the team that turned them into a very good non-league side.

Re: Peter Brabrook R.I.P.
Didn't actually play in the ECWC final as his place was taken by Alan Sealey, but I saw him play about that time and he was a decent winger.
Didn't realise he actually played over 250 games for Chelsea...about 90 more than for us. Joe Cole funded his two operations for replacement knees a few years ago.
RIP Peter.

Re: Peter Brabrook R.I.P.
Just a tiny bit too young to remember him playing for us but remember him coming to play for Romford for a very short time after he left. He didn't have a very successful time but my dad used to say that it was because he was so much better than the others that they could never read what he was going to do.

Another local boy pinched from us by Chelsea in the fifties along with Jimmy Greaves. So thrilled when he came home in 1962. A great entertainer with a lot of skill and scored his fair share for an out and out winger. The latest player from that cup winning sixties team to leave us along with Bobby, Johnny Byrne and John Bond. So sad.

I too saw him play, he was a decent winger. He lived next door to a primary school classmate in a semi in Hyland Close, Hornchurch. Just one of the lads, no airs and graces.
RIP. Another one of my early football memories passes away.
