Francois van der Elst R.I.P.
Fellow Hammers, i don't know if it has been reported or mentioned over there yet,but ex player and fellow Belgian Francois van der Elst has had a massive heartattack and has been taken to hospital in critical condition. He is currently still fighting for his life. Fingers crossed he can beat this

Best wishes to him , remembering him scoring away to Spurs early 80s only for Archibald to grab 2 , don't know crowd (just looked it up 42000) but at least 8000 there that day (and that was in our end ) It was Nov 82

He used to live up my road. He had a green Ford Granada 2.8 Ghia that had sponsors messages all over it.

Re: Francois van der Elst
A great player. I remember his last ever game away at Coventry. He was played in centre midfield instead of being shovelled out to the right wing as was usual; he sprayed the ball all around the park in every direction for 90 minutes; it was a thing of beauty. Won 4-2 that day.
Get well Frankie.
