Nintendo Switch
TB released March 3, priced at an impressively optimistic £280. Can't see it being a success outside of Japan. Nintendo should just do a deal with Sony or MS to produce games for their platform. They've been pony at hardware for decades.

Re: Nintendo Switch
There were rumours that Nintendo were finally going to allow games from all sorts of developers for this.
Not the case, I presume?
Never seen a company shoot themselves in the foot so much over their potentially brilliant hardware.
Imagine if the N64 had all their regular games AND others?

Who's going to develop major titles for it? It won't end up joining the PS4/XB1/PC grouping.fjthegrey wrote:They have opened it up to 3rd parties.
Nintendo should be doing the opposite of this - stop making hardware, and focus on making games and maybe peripherals for someone else's consoles.

Just taken from an article confirming those already on board and developing titles right now.
It doesn't necessarily translate into great games but it's promising they are at least trying to solicit some 3rd party support. I'm intrigued by the console. Way more than the Wii U which seemed an unnecessary half brother of the Wii, when all the Wii really needed was a better and more consistent quality of game.

Re: Nintendo Switch
The economy class version is cheap, the upgrade will cost though.

I like. Might even be tempted to get one for the family.
Looks better than wii and the every version since N64

Re: Nintendo Switch
My colleague brought his portable into work today, looks quality. I haven't read a great deal about it but love the way the controller splits and the graphics are great, i think i will probably get one later in the year.
Re: Nintendo Switch
Can the portable be streamed to other screens... or only when it is in the hub?
I can't work out if i want or need a portable console, especially as im not sat on the train much anymore.
edit; i already know my own answer... a big fat no.
So it's sold well in the US, there aren't many games, a load of manufacturing faults have popped up and a chromecast type connection isn't possible. I don't want this console.

Re: Nintendo Switch
I haven't had any issues with my Nintendo Switch - have loved every minute of it so far!
Despite the reviews, I found 1-2 switch a whole heap of fun with the family, and of course Zelda is insane.

Re: Nintendo Switch
The console itself has been sold out everywhere but I've managed to get hold of one on Shopto and it will arrive on Monday.
Anyone know somewhere with copies of Zelda? This also seems to be sold out everywhere! Physical copies only not interested in download

Re: Nintendo Switch
Got a Switch a couple of months ago, and it is fantastic. Zelda, Breath of Fire is a proper return to form for the Zelda series - definitely took me a while to get into, but it's so enjoyable I don't want to do the final missions and complete it. There's so much to do just wandering around and finding new stuff.
It works brilliantly as Handheld, don't think I've docked it into the TV for a month. The games and controllers are expensive though.

Re: Nintendo Switch
before this switch came out I would have agreed with you but not now.. it is nothing short of outstandingDasNutNock wrote:

Mine arrived Tuesday night picked up Mario kart last night.. had a two player race with the wife (who never plays games but enjoyed it)
for the £280 you get the console.. a dock to allow it to be played on your tv, charger and HDMI cable. The controller that comes with it.. (£70 to buy on its own) clicks onto the side so you can use like a PS vita style when playing yourself.. or you can click into the holder and use like a standard controller you would expect to find.. or further still you can split in half for games like Mario kart and play 2 player straight out the box
the graphics are impressive.. 720p on the handheld and 1080p on the telly.. really good quality
games so far are okay but more to come
I have Mario Kart (classic always a win)
Splatoon 2 (a shooting game with paintball.. its fun)
Street fighter
I have on order Mario odyssey (the latest Mario)
Fifa 18!!! which is huge for me.. can play it anywhere in the world..
Sonics latest aswell
rumored games to be on the way ,, Pay day 2, LA Noire, Yoshi
going to be cracking
I am ordering a Pro controller which is £60 for fifa as its more conventional controller so will make fifa that bit sharper

not £400 though UTJUp the Junction wrote:£400 to play yet more Mario Kart and Zelda seems an awful stretch.
its £279 plus £40 for mario kart call it
you then can play on the go or on the screen
plus the other games coming out for it
La Noire
Payday 2
Fifa 18
Mario odessey
to name just 4 of them
Fifa 18 is going to be revelation on it
