Re: Your Tune of the Day
This song is almost religious to me. Probably in my 10 favourite recordings ever.

Thanks for that TOMOS! Aah, the Haftsind table. Nemind the Ghorbeh (cat) trying to nick food. Iranian bagpipes, like those from Scotland: you'll either turn off after a few seconds or be fascinated. Poor little lamb-skin.

I was wondering if the cat was playing some significant role or just being a cat ! Tried Googling ' Nemind The Ghorbeh to no avail , I take it he represents some mischievous being ?
Do you celebrate Iranian New Year ?

Re: Your Tune of the Day
Since yer asked, no, Ghorbeh just means cat, and I think it's in the first vid just as an amusing aside. It holds no significance. Well, we do go to friends at Nowruz and sometimes have the 'Haftsind' table at times (it just means '7 things begining with 's'). She's in Iran visiting her sisters right now, so no Nowruz this year. The Old Man of Storr wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 9:13 am I was wondering if the cat was playing some significant role or just being a cat ! I could post a vid of Haji Firooz dancing, but believe me it would get banned for racist content in the UK. (look it up if you want, it's kind of like SchwartzPeter)).
